I am trying to start a supper club in Suffolk County on Long Island. I already have someone who is interested in starting one with me. Anyone else interested in joining our Supper Club?

Great! I live in Smithtown and the other person lives in Sayville so we are all fairly close to one another. I guess we should start with a meeting ... perhaps at a diner or coffehouse ... and get to know one another. Then we can decide the rest at that meeting. Sound good? Do you have any suggestions for a meeting place?

Hi! I'm the person who has talked to Lia about starting a club. I live in Sayville, but I work in Commack. I'm new to the area, so I don't have any suggestions, but I think Commack is pretty much between you two. Early in Feb. in the evening sometime (7ish) is good for me.

Commack is fine for me. In fact there are several places where we could meet. Are you familiar with the diner on Vets Highway...I forget the name of it (Candlelight Diner?) but it's located in between the Sterns shopping center and Target....that's always a possiblity. Early February around 7ish works for me.

I'm familiar with that shopping center in Commack. I work in NYC so the earliest I can meet is 7:30pm Mondays and Fridays are best for me. Let me know if that poses a problem.

Getting together around 7:30 - 8:00pm is not a problem for me. I live in Smithtown and I work in Hauppauge so I'm available anytime after 5pm. Mondays and Fridays are good for me as well...Thursdays I am not available. Shall we try for a meeting in February??

Hi! My sister-in-law is also interested in joining, but she has a class on Mondays and Fridays. Would a Saturday be better- maybe 2/10 or 2/17? Or a Sunday brunch?

My schedule is pretty flexible in February...except for Thursdays, I'm available anytime. I do like the idea of a Saturday meeting or even a Sunday brunch...and both 2/10 & 2/17 seem ok with me.

How about Sunday on 2-25 at noon? There is a pretty nice place in Sayville for brunch (The Greenery), but it is quite a hike for Linda... I don't really know of any other place, but would love to try something new.

OK ladies, let's try and make this happen. So far Feb 25 is ok for me...how does that work for you Karen? I'm assuming Linda is no longer interested in joining us so let's not worry about her until we hear from her.
I'm not sure but Sayville may be far for Karen....can we think of a meeting place that might be convenient for all of us?

Yes, Feb 25 is great. Sayville is not too far but if you want to go a little west that is fine too. I just don't know too many places around that area. So to KISS I say lets keep it in Sayville for now.

Yes, but as I said, I only suggested The Greenery because it is the only place I know. If either of you have another place in mind (perhaps a little more centrally located), let me know.

I'm ok with Sayville and it looks like Karen is ok with Sayville so to make this as easy as possible, why don't we stick with Sayville for now?

Hey! I'm flexible on the time- let me know what is good for you. It's up to you if you want to bring someone, I just asked 'cause I am planning on calling the Greenery to make reservations (probably not necessary, but better safe than sorry, esp. if we end up with a big group). Thanks.

Sorry for the HUGE delay in responding. February got completly out of control. I'm still interested in meeting up.
I've just scanned the postings and it looks like Mondays,Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Weekends are bad!! That leaves Friday evenings. I'm OK with that. I don't mind driving to Sayville if that's the meeting place.

please respond to this post stating whether or not you are available on a Friday. If you are, give a date that is good for you as well as a location that you might think is convenient for all of us ... I think all our locations have been posted.

Ok I yanked out my trusty Zagat's guide and there is an Italian place called Polini's in Hauppauge that got a good reveiw and doesn't seem too expensive. It's 321 Nesconset Hwy. (rte 347)I've never been there, but it has the centrally located thing going for it. Anybody ever been there?
