Let's Start a Rhode Island Supper Club

Are there any RI FOOD LOVERS that would like to start a supper club? With the warm weather approaching- there's no better time to organize a group for some great dinners and company. Let's start the ball rolling!

How is Friday May 4th at 6:15? (May 11th is OK too!)Now to decide where we'll meet. I'll mention a few off the top of my head- There's Tomatoe Vine-Next to Apex Store in Warwick..If you like Thai food- (BYOB)Galaxie Restaurant-957 Resevoir Ave on Cranston. Feel free to add your own... any thoughts?

I love Thai and the 4th works for me! I will be carbo loading for the Shad Bloom 10K the next day.......

Ack! We close on our new house on May 4th so the 11th is better for me- or really any evening in May except moving weekend and Memorial Day.

Friday, May 11th is fine with me as well!!.
I will be away beginning April 13th...and won't be able to check on the confirmation of our plans. In the meantime, hopefully a date and place can be confirmed. For Thai, galaxie is very good, but any sugguestions welcomed!!! Let's try to make this work...again. I'll check in again on the 23th.

As for restaurant recommendations: The Grille on Main St in East Greenwich is always good, or The Providence Bookstore Cafe (right near Wayland Square on the East Side) is also cool. I, too will be away for a few weeks (cruising then another conference) but will check back in on April 26th! Take care!

I have always wanted to try the Providence Bookstore as I've heard good things!! I'm game for May 11th if all agree. Out of curiosity, I called to see if they take reservations and they do..they suggusted them if we will be arriving after 6:00.

Good! Friday, May 11th is confirmed-At the Providence Bookstore. As far as the time...I can be there 5:45 the earliest.

The first one to arrive can have a table reserved and identify themself to the host that we are waiting for Melissa, Kristi, Barbara...For Melissa who has been there-Is there a lounge area to wait until we all arrive? Let me know.

OK, I will be there but not until 6-6:15ish- I forgot it's prom night for my niece and I need to swing by to see her off! Looks like we need a table for 4? There is a bar there so we can either meet up there or get a table and keep an eye out for folks. I'm easy to spot- 4'11" with red hair so grab me if I'm wandering. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

I'm going to sit in the bar. I think I'm easy to spot in the sense that I look like someone you know (I'm one of those people that always get stopped by SOMEONE telling me I look like someone they know). I bear a very close resemblance to Bill Clinton's first press secretary--who's name is Dee Dee Myers.

I will be there around 5:45. I got directions off of Map Quest-- it's on Angell Street right? I have mid-length hair and at 7:10am it is in a banana clip which probably means it will be in a clip this evening. I hope to be there by 6ish, so long as street parking doesn't slow me down! I managed to work from home today (Warwick) so I don't have to fly from work in Providence to EG for the pre-prom thing back to Providence: hurray! Yes it is on Angell (or it might be considered South Angell there) basically right near the intersection of Wayland and Angell. If you know where the Starbucks there is, it's on the same street and same side, but away from Brown/downtown (as if that makes any sense to anyone but me). Looking forward to meeting everyone tonight!

Well, let me be the first to say that the RI group met last night and it went well! It's not too late if others are interested.

We ate, we chatted about everything EXCEPT CL! LOL. and our first event is scheduled for early June.
