I have just moved to North Stamford and am looking to meet people and to start a supper club in the area. Anyone who is interested, please send a message back and we'll get the ball rolling! I'm very excited about doing this since I came from a Gourmet Club in my old town. But, since I'm an avid Cooking Light reader and cook, I'd love to make healthy recipes instead of fattening, gourmet recipes. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi there -

We have a 'Hartford area' supper club that in fact has people from all over Connecticut - as far south as New Haven and Guilford and as far north as Windsor.

Our next meeting is scheduled for June 19 or 20 (have to check) at my house in Windsor (off exit 36 of I-91 North). You are certainly welcome to attend - let me know if you are coming.

If this is too great a distance (understandably), why don't you check the back messages for anything that has to do with northern NYC and/or southern CT? I know there was some interest at some point in setting up a southern seacoast CT supper club; you might wish to re-post with that topic line.

I do know that CL will be running another article on supper clubs, which should generate more interest in the subject, as well.

please feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Diana,

Thank you very much for your reply to my posting and your kind invitation to your club. At this point, I do feel it is too far to go, but will take your advice and re-post broadening my area.

Have a great dinner in June!

Good luck, and I hope you get one going. We've had a lot of fun with ours, and wish everyone all the best!

I'll check back here when we have the next meeting near New Haven and will invite you again, if you have had no success...

Again, best of luck!

I'm in Pound Ridge, NY--right next to Northern Stamford and New Canaan. Are you close to that location? I, too, would like to start a supper club. I moved here from San Francisco two years ago, and love the idea of meeting new people this way. I look forward to hearing from you.

I'd love to see us get started with a club in Stamford/Fairfield County. I know someone else who would probably be interested, schedule permitting.

It's been a long time, but I was in a cooking club before--elsewhere. It was really fun and I got to know others.

Let's see what type of responses you get to this thread. I'd be happy to help you get this started.

I see another posting on this site requesting a lower Fairfield County supper club. The thread is titled: "Lower Fairfield County, CT?"

I've suggested that everyone continue the dialogue in this thread (here) if they would be interested.

Hi ElleMichelle and Cheryl,

I would like to be involved in a supper club in the Fairfield area. Keeping in touch by e-mail would be ideal. Has anyone begun to discuss a time/place for an initial meal and/or meeting?

Thanks!

Hi Cheryl,

I just read the post from ElleMichelle and realized she is moving out of the area. I have posted a note in the thread for the Hartford supper club. I'm not sure yet if they have any room for new members, so please keep me in mind if you decide to go forward with a supper club in Fairfield.

Thank you,
Skye

I am also interested in joining a club here in Fairfield County. I live in Monroe. Are others still interested?

Looks like we have about 4 people interested in starting a club in the area. I don't know what the next step is but I just want to know where we can have the suppers. My apt has a dining room but a small kitchen. Does anyone have a large kitchen so that we can cook all together? I can't wait to get this started. Does anyone have any ideas as to what are the next steps? Do we meet at a coffe house somewhere to make the plans?

our place also has a small kitchen and seating at our table is limited, but we could make it work. The supper club article in the most recent cooking light had some suggestions for when you don't have a big kitchen or if you have limited table seating. Maybe we could do a pot luck thing where everyone makes a dish ahead of time and then brings it? Meeting at a restaurant or for coffee to work out details sounds like a good idea.

Hi, there--
I have a big kitchen, and a large table--we could accommodate 10 or so people here. I suggest we get together for coffee and discuss format and how we want to proceed. I'm struggling with the CL email format--perhaps you could all email me directly, rather than with the CL posting.
Look forward to chatting--Laurie

Looks like Laurie could host a supper club. I think it would be really fun if we all cooked together and then shared our jointly created meal together. Would somewhere in White Plains, Ny be convenient to meet for coffee to discuss logistics? Only night that is bad for me is Thursday.

We have chosen Wednesday Sept 19 at 7pm to have our Supper Club Kickoff meeting. We are meeting at Starbucks in New CAnaan, CT
Here are the directions
To get to Starbucks in New Canaan from Katonah, take 124 into New Canaan
(do you know how to get to 124? Either go East on 35 to 124 and go south, or
go on 22 south to 137 East to 124 South). 124 goes into New Canaan. You will
turn right on Elm Street. Starbucks is at the end of that street at the
light, on the corner of Elm and Park. The actual address is 88 Park, 203
972-8110. You should be able to find parking on the street at that time.
Let me know if you need better directions
YOu can contact me or Laurie by email to our personal accounts
mine is
spantano2000@yahoo.com
and Laurie is
JohnandLaurieJ@aol.com
Hope to see lots of you there and I look forward to meeting all of you.

My husband and I are moving to Westport, CT in late June. Is there room in an existing supper club for us or is anyone interested in starting a new one? We are a young couple (late 20s/early 30s) who enjoy cooking and entertaining, and are looking to make friends in the area.

I see from the posts that a supper club was started in the Fairfield County area a few months ago. I live in Stamford and would like to know a little more about how it works, and if there is room to join. How often do you meet, and where usually?

Thanks!

I live in Norwalk and was wondering if there is an existing club close by I could join, or if anyone would be interested in forming a new one?

Hi Denise -

I had posted a similar request a couple of months ago. I would still be interested in joining/forming a supper club. I've never done it before, though in college my friends got together once a week to cook together. Let me know what you think.
