I want to get my MIL a few things from Lush. She loves Bath and Body works stuff so I figured she would really like Lush.

What would you like someone to give you from Lush?

P.S. She doesn't take baths so the bath bombs are probably not an option.

The shampoo tablets are really nice. My DD is on her second one and they make the bathroom smell REALLY nice!!!

I think it would be good to go there and get a bunch of small pieces of different soaps, some shampoo tablets, and maybe some type of hand cream.

I don't use Lush products myself because I've got extremely sensitive skin (can't use Bath & Body Works either). Wish I could. But I do like to go in the store and smell things.

Buffy the Backside Slayer. (If you even want to consider slaying your MIL's backside. Up to you I suppose.)

Do they package their products so MIL will be able to tell what each item is for or will I need to explain that this is shampoo and that is soap etc?

I just got a gift for a friend and at the store I went to they did put a small paper label in the bag to describe what it was, i.e. bath melt, bubble bar, etc. and how to use it. It didn't; however, describe what scent it was, so I ended up writing that part on the back of the piece of paper.

These are the things I got as a gift:
Karma bubble bar
Rock star soap
Avobath bath bomb
Something wicked this way comes bath melt

Things I got for myself (couldn't resist!)
Karma soap
Honey, I washed the kids soap
Happy hippy shower gel
King of skin body butter bar
Pop in the bath bubble bar
Creamy candy bath melt

Have fun shopping!

oceanjasper - I just *love* the Karma scent. (The soap actually always reminds me of being at Natasha's house!)

Oh sweetie, Lush has been in Boston for years now - it was probably just a new one they were opening!

There is one in Greenwich CT. There is also one on Beachwood, OH, so Cleveland area.

Their shampoo bars are great: wonderful lather, smell, results -- and *perfect* for airline travel since you don't have to think about "liquids". Lush sells tins they fit in perfectly.

And seconding "Honey I Washed the Kids"! Will you be going into the store, misskitty, or ordering online? I know they have loads of great products, but ultimately it's their soaps that I like best. I just pick what looks good, smells great, has a creamy texture...and not "bits" in it to stick to the sink. The soap is rather pricey, though, so to me a few small pieces wouldn't be as desirable as fewer larger chunks.

The last time I bought a hunk of LUSH soap, I put the whole thing in the tub/shower and it really didn't last as long as I had hoped. This time, I am much wiser! ;) Now I just cut slices off of the bigger hunk (still wrapped) and only keep the smaller slice in the tub. It is lasting much longer now (and the pieces are easier to hold onto).

Are you talking about the solid shampoos? I use bath and body works but have never tried Lush products yet. I heard Honey I washed the kids was a good one to get.

i should have clarified - the lush on newbury street (where i was) was in the process of being opened or remodeling or something :) we didn't have time to drive to the one in cambridge. bummer though!

i like the sound of greenwich - near my dbf so maybe he will be inspired to buy me a treat if we go ;)

on my next trip to cleveland i am going! i should be there sept 1 :)

I plan to get "Honey I washed the Kids" for her. I wanted to get her something for watching our kids while I worked last month.

I am going to go to the store so I will be able to sniff and smell and try everything out.

Has anyone used the Jellie's? I saw them online and they look pretty cool.

Nope, but I got a demo! :) Maybe they can demo them for you when you are in the store? I think they are pretty bizarre! Like washing yourself with a cube of jello. Apparently you can pop them in the freezer to harden them up and they create a nice lather either way.

Wait a minute, wait a minute. Why don't I know about Lush? I see they have stores in California. I guess I'd have to actually SHOP to discover them though, huh? Looks like they have good stuff. I'm interested in that shampoo bar thingy...

It might be enough to have a FRIEND who shops! ;)
I'm not a shopper, but DBF discovered Lush around 10 years ago in London. We used to order from them from Canada, til one day they told me I couldn't do it anymore since they'd opened a store in the U.S. (drat, and that was when the exchange rate was fantastic). "WHERE in the U.S.?" woo-hoo! My hometown! I'm always in the dark about these things til someone hits me over the head with them..

I agree about the shampoo bars - great when travelling, and I love the smell of Karma Comber (it smells like, umm, Karma). I also use The Olive Branch shower gel and really like it.

Olive branch shower gel sounds really nice - can't wait to get to the store this weekend!
