Hi there. I moved to Seattle 14 months ago and have finally decided it is time to get a supper group started here. A friend of mine and I started a supper club in the Boston area nearly 7 years ago! Wow, the time really flies!
Our group met once a month, rotated houses and had a different theme each time. We had some great themes and never seemed to run out of ideas. We always had about 10 core members which included some singles, some couples, a few old friends and some new ones we made through a Cooking Light thread like this one. The ages ranged from about mid-20's to mid-30’s. I'm 31 by the way. We did not make any rules about who could and could not be in the group, it just ended up this way. The Boston group has had some turnover throughout its 7 years. Occasionally there was a "bad fit" but mostly it was from people like me moving away. :) The group is still active and going strong today!
If starting a supper club with me in this area sounds like something you would be interested in, shoot me an e-mail at Liza7207@aol.com. I'm happy to answer any questions and send you some more information about what our Boston group was like, what worked, what did not, etc.
Cheers!
