I decided to start a vegetable garden this year, and the only plant that really seemed to do well was the zucchini. I got one huge, perfect fruit a few weeks ago. I've staked it, water it regularly, give it miracle grow ever once in a while and it had tons of flowers. The problem is, all of my little zucchinis lately have been deformed. I thought at first that they may have been too close to the ground, but the ones higher up the vine are that way too. They are really bulbous at the base and taper off from there. You can imagine what it looks like...
Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? Is my dirty mind perhaps influencing my garden?

:D I've gotten some like that especially at the beginning of the season.

It's interesting, I've heard others mention staking them. I just let my grow. They take a little more room up that way but I plan on that anyway.

Typically, I don't let mine get that big. I try to pick them when they're more the size of cucumbers.

Hope you get an answer.
