ikea leather sofa?

Hi all--

We're in the market for a new couch, but don't have the cash to spend premium dollar. And I want leather, for dog hair reasons. I';m so tired of vacuuming my sofa!:o

So I'm looking into Ikea for a leather couch. The prices are really low, and I've never shopped there before...any opinions on the furniture?

My parents have 2 IKEA leather sofas - one is at least 10 years old or more, which they bought in the "as is" section. It's still in great shape, despite its light beige color and the fact they have it in the family room.

The other one, in their living room, is a dark blue L-shaped one they bought about 2 years ago. This one hasn't seen a lot of use at all, but it seems quite sturdy and my brother says it's comfortable to sleep on, too, although it's not a sleep sofa.

Both are very comfortable, IMHO.

My cousin furnished her entire condo from ikea, including 2 leather sofas. They are very nice and comfortable. She bought them 3 years ago and they still look great.

Oh, thanks for posting that Ikea has leather sofas! I'm in the market for a new loveseat and I had been thinking of looking there, but hadn't done it yet.

It's a good price, but I have to figure out how to get one to our house........somehow I don't think it will fit in our minivan..........

My BIL has two Ikea sofas in his living room (they look just like the one you posted, Lindrusso). They're a family with two young kids and a dog. The couches are wearing really well and still look fresh and new (I think he's had them about three years or so). I wasn't sure about the quality of Ikea stuff until he bought that. Now I'd definitely consider it. Good luck!
