Hi, I'm on the board all the time (as you probably know!!), and when someone adds to a thread, and it moves up to the top of the list, when I click on that thread to see the new posting, the new posting doesn't show, even when I reload within the posting. I can reload over and over and over again, but it still doesn't show up. I have to give up, and go away (sign off), and come back at some point later, and eventually they are there, but what's the deal? It's been happening for quite a while now. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Grace

It sounds like a caching issue. Caching is when your browser loads a web page, it stores the page on your hard drive. It does this so when you look at that page again, it doesn't have to reload all of the graphics and programming behind the page again - therefore speeding up the page load.

One way around this is to clear your cache. Let me know what browser you are using (Netscape, Internet Explorer), what platform (Mac or PC) and if you are using AOL and I'll let you know how to clear your cache.

However, if you would like to try it now, most often Netscape and IE have either "Preferences" or "Internet Options" from which you can select the category "Advanced". Then look for an area that allows you to "Clear Disk Cache" and "Clear Cache Now". If you're on AOL, it's in the "My AOL" area, possibly in the "download" or "advanced" area???? Not sure.

This is a workaround however, not a long-term solution. I'll think more about this and get back to you...

Thanks.

Just to let you know, I also was having this problem yesterday. Today, however, it seems to be working fine.

OK. I take back everything I said. We were having server problems, which were resolved this morning.
