I hate this time of year! Bugs find my house! I have little, bitty ants in my kitchen area when I feed the kitty and a spot by my patio door. They seems to come under the moulding. I have sprayed and thought that I had a handle on them, so moved the kitty dish back and this morning... yuck! Ants again! i hate to spray inside too much, but did use some and wiped up excess quickly. I have sprayed outside, but guess they are determined little buggers. Also have the cricket invasion going on, but think I have a handle (?) on them. They get up UNDER my siding outside ... grrrrrr.... anybody have a new idea? I hate using a pest control place as I have indoor kitty, but guess I'm spraying also?? TIA

I think it is a little bit early, but the Fall usually brings these orange colored Asian beetles that seem to find any crack into the house. This morning, I killed a cricket in my basement, and the kids were asking how it got into the house. I have no clue - so I tell them that they must have some kind of magic. I *almost* said, like Santa, but then I figured that would surely confuse the heck out of them if Santa and crickets are both linked together.

We have had trouble with ants mostly due to 2 people in this house who are constantly dropping crumbs on the floor. ;) I figured out where they were coming in, it was in a little gap between the trim and our sliding glass door in the kitchen. I just had DH run a line of clear caulk in the gap and we haven't had too much of a problem since.

There is some Tero stuff that you can sprinkle outside. Maybe you could look into that? My grandma uses that and it works pretty well.

ETA: I have found that washing my floor with a vinegar/water solution gets rid of the "tracks" that keep the ants coming back. Might be worth it to do that as well.

There is a Terro liquid that works well on those little ants. It is corn syrup with borax, I think.

You pour a quarter sized dollop out onto a card, and the ants just flock to it. They carry it back to the nest, and it kills the whole kit and kaboodle of 'em.

You do have to keep putting it out until you see no more ants feeding on it--don't stop too soon.

My cats never paid any attention to it, but I think dogs might lick it up, so I put it under a shoebox with a hole cut in the side. Weight it down, if you think the cat might get into it.

OT....Robert, why was your "avatar removed"? Did you perchance bring the banana back for an encore? :)
