I'm interested in the Arlington supper club idea. I saw the article on Supper Clubs in this months magazine and thought it seemed like a wonderful idea for sharing recipes, learning more about different types of foods and meeting some new people will similar interests.

I am also interested in a Supper Club. I live in Centreville, but it looks like this group might be the closest to me.

I would love to join a supper club. Please let me know if/when the group in Arlington decides to form. It looks like this would be a great group.

Hi, I'd love to join an Arlington, Va supper club as well! Seems like this message has perfect timing -- I've been thinking about posting a request to start a supper club for a couple of weeks now, and now that I've finally registered, the first listing I see is someone else looking for a supper club in my area. Looks like we just have to start organizing, because there are quite a few people interested.

I have found several threads on supper clubs in the area, but I've either not received a reply, or it hasn't been put together. There is one established in DC, but it's a bit far for me. I'm in Fairfax and would like to join something closer. If this gets off the ground I think there's many people who would join.

It looks like there are seven of us interested in forming a Supper Club in the Arlington area. Are there any suggestions as to when/where we get together to set up our little group? Would you like to meet at a restaurant? a coffee bar? someone's home??? Are weekends better than weekdays? Sat.? Sun.?
I think the most important thing is that we just jump in and get started.
Looking forward to your feedback.

Interested in joining a club after reading this month's article. I live in Fairfax and would be happy to join an Arlington group or consider a Fairfax group if there are enough of us.

Looks like many people (including myself) came to CL because of this month's article on Supper Clubs. There's many here that are interested in joining. So does someone want to volunteer the first one, or start the club on yahoo groups or somewhere else?

Hi,
I agree with one of the earlier comments that we should just get started and sort out the logistics from there. I don't know how to email people from the bulletin board, but why don't we set up a meeting at a coffee house first to get together and figure out some logistics, if that's OK with everyone.
How about Greenberry's Coffee House on 1737 Wilson Boulevard at 7:00 pm on Thursday evening, September 20th? Can everyone bring a copy of Cooking Light so we can identify each other?
I'd also be willing to host the first club dinner, unless someone else wants to take the lead on this. (I admit -- Greenberry's is easy for me because I live just around the corner in Rosslyn)
Hopefully this post gives everyone enough time to catch up on the bulletin board messages and decide to come. See you there? :)

Hi all,
I'm also interested in joining a supper club, but unfortunately found this thread too late to make tonight's event at Greenberry's. :(
If it's not too much to ask, could those who attend tonight's get-together post a quick overview of the meeting, so those of us who couldn't attend know how things went; what, if any, decisions were made; etc.
I, too, am located in Centreville. Perhaps we could get a club started with those of us in the Western burbs (Mampy, Havan Brown, ACullen, etc....). Any interest?

That would be great, except I'm finding that many people come in here, make one post about the supper club, and then dash off. There's at least 5, maybe more threads on starting supper clubs in the DC/NOVA area.
As many people who replied to this thread, it looks like only 3 are showing up tonight.

I'll also be coming tonight to Greenberry's, so that will be 4. I look forward to meeting everyone there.

For whatever reason, I did not get the message regarding the Thursday night gathering.
If there is still room, I would like to join your group if you have decided to continue on with the supper club. You can send me a message at
bjseymour1@aol.com to be certain I get the information.

Hi,
Sorry it's taken so long to post results of the Thursday night kick off to an Arlington VA supper club. There were four of us in attendance, and we have agreed to start a monthly supperclub. First dinner will be at my house on Saturday, October 13th, starting at 6:00 pm. We will be preparing dishes separately and bringing them to eat together and have a good time.
Choice of menu is up to the host (and I've finally made up my mind :-)) -- so anyone who is interested in joining, please email me at hoppedc@yahoo.com, and I can let you know what dishes we are still looking for...
We are happy to have more people join us, although it's definitely easier if we all live fairly close together. We are going to try both a Saturday and Sunday night for the first couple of meetings to see which day works better for everyone, but the first meeting is on Saturday night.
If others are still interested, just drop me an email and I can give you more info. Thanks! Look forward to meeting more of you.
