So as you can tell by my screen name I love baseball, and I LOVE the Angels. So in the past I have been fortunate enough to have met John Lackey-starting pitcher, Adam Kennedy-old second baseman, Jarod Weaver-starting pitcher and Orlando Cabrerra-short stop (eww..he was the only one who wasn't very nice). Well, my husband dragged me out last night to a local sports bar and who was there???...Scot Sheilds-set up man pitcher and Jeff Mathis-catcher!! We hung out for about an hour with them.
I am sure that no one really cares, but I am SO EXCITED that I had to share :D !
Have a great week everyone!!
Go Angels!!

Keep checking their website....I know they do a lot of charity events that you can buy tickets to and meet a lot of them.
I went to a "casino night" held by the Ducks years ago and met all of them. It was a lot of fun!
I have to ask what sports bar was it?

Jalapeno,
We live right by the stadium so we are constantly seeing players around town. We were at the Orange street fair with some friends and instead of going home when it closed we went to Danny K's (it's a pretty large sports bar, the food isn't good so I don't like to go unless we are just having drinks). At first I was complaining because I was tired, but it obviously worked out in the end!! Shields and Mathis were so nice, I love to see down to Earth athletes.
I noticed that you are in Riverside, are you a Dodgers or an Angels fan?

Oh yeah I've been to Danny K's a number of times. I used to work next to CHOC hostipal so on Fridays we'd take a long lunch and we'd go have some beers, food and play pool. How we got any work done after that is beyond me! LOL
Neither.....I'm not to much of a baseball fan but if I had to choose I'd say Red Sox because my son (16) is a die hard fan so I end up watching a lot of Sox games. My sport is hockey.
I don't mind going to an occasional Angels game though. I think it's fun...I hate going to Dodger Stadium though, a complete different crowd there.

It sounds like you had some fun lunches over there!! I agree that Dodgers stadium has a different vibe to it. We go to a lot of the Angels-Dodgers games at Angels stadium and there are so many fights and crazy behavior! So I assume you are a Ducks fan, wow that must have been amazing for you last season :D ! How cool.

Well I am of the unusal breed, I love both the ducks and the kings. Apparently that is not acceptable and I must pick one and hate the other....
I used to be a ducks fan but loved a kings game only because there was way more action and hitting going on. Ducks played to nice for me. I always thought Disney needed to get out of the hockey business....now they have and look what happened...Stanley Cup! ;)
I got to be more of a Kings fan but now all my favorite players are gone  I have to admit I love the Neidermeyer brothers....YUMMY! :D
