Hi, Maelynn. I don't mean to sound like a whiny baby, but I notiuced that a rather lively debate that we had going on over on the GF board has been deleted. I was just curious as to why, i.e., what are your criteria for discontinuing a certain thread? For example, i know that we have had much, much more offensive and hostile opinions articulated on several threads taht have not been removed. Just wondering how to avoid the removal of any future posts. Thanks!

Hi...

I'm not Maelynn, but I just thought I'd let you know I ran a search for those "unpleasant" threads, and they were all still there. Maybe you are referring to something different (in which case, I apologize for butting in!), but if you're looking for the debate about low-carbs started by "thekitchenangel", they're still there! Do a search using "thekitchenangel" and they'll pop up.

The only threads I know of that were deleted, were threads this same woman started a long, long time ago (like a year ago), where she was actively trying to sell her personal chef business on the board. And she posted over and over and over again. Every other post was her trying to sell her personal chef business, and it was completely annoying. CL stepped in and asked her to quit posting, and they deleted all those posts. Since then, I don't think they've stepped in at all (correct me if I'm wrong, Maelynn!) Anyhow, hope that helps answer your question.

I deleted a thread that started with "please, please, please...". That specific thread was about to, if it hadn't already, become hostile. The difference between that thread and the low-carb threads is that though the low-carb threads also had content that could be seen as hostile, there was , as other members stated, some value to the thread's information and the conversations about carbs that it prompted. The deleted thread had no informational value whatsoever.

I have never deleted a thread before and I don't intend to make a practice of it.

Hi. No, I realize that the kitchenangel's posts are all there. . .that is what I am in a quandary about. A rather mild thread (especially compared to the one about the carbs) that I had started was deleted yesterday. So I am not sure why that one was deleted and those from the "angel," which were full of rancor and ill will, were not. Thanks, though, Grace.
