Happy Labor Day all. The Hammsters hope you all have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day. For those in the heat; drink tons of water and keep as cool as you can.
We are having DS and a long time family friend over today. Gonna grill some game hens that have been marinated in a fajita style marinade. Corn on the cob, grilled peppers and onions and southwest style beans will round out the menu. Strawberry sorbet and vanilla ice cream (both homemade, of course :D) will be dessert.

Happy Labor Day to you as well! We're having a lazy morning here! The current plan is to head to the pool at 11am when they open to enjoy it for the last time this year. I'll pack a cooler of wraps, fruit and some left over salads from the Klatch for us to munch on while we're there. We're meeting friends so we're sure to have a good time and thanks to a bit of recent rain, the water should be refreshing!
I hope everyone has a GREAT Labor Day!

What, Hammster, you're not making a turkey? :D Your menu sounds great. What time should we all be there? :) Hope you and your family have a wonderful day. We had some family over yesterday so today might be kind of quiet--which is really nice, after getting that first hectic week of school out of the way. We have lots of honey-do's to do, competing with the desire to blow off the whole list and forget it . . . ;)
Terri_A, you and your DD have a great time at the pool!

What's not to be happy about? We're on our fifth straight day of absolutely perfect weather: seventies, cooler fifties at night for great sleeping, not a cloud in the sky. And it's going to be like this all week. I honestly don't remember a stretch of weather this great! I'm thinking fall planting and have already been out pulling up the unloved to be replaced with more appealing flowers. Plan to head to the local nursery for some deer-resistant Asters for starters and the rest has already been ordered online.

Everyone enjoy the holiday!
We are having a fire-department potluck at one of the pools in the area. It doesn't start until 6, when we hope all the weekenders will have gone home, so we can party with no emergency calls!;)

We did our big deal yesterday, with about 20 family members and burgers and pork tenderloins on the grill. It was a lot of fun and today is for laundry and relaxing. There is plenty of food left over and time to veg out.

I hope eveyone is having a great Labor Day weekend. It is hard to decide what to do. DH has been going gung ho one day and goofing off with the grandkids the next. Now he is out there mowing the lawn, and I hope to have three great recipes for the Summer Grilling 2007 thread tonight. My intentions are to make chicken, beef and shrimp kebabs for dinner tonight. Now back to searching. :D
HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!!

We have my son's swim team picnic today and I am going to make cookies to share. I think I am going to make the cookies that were such a hit at the Houston Klatch. I hope everyone else has a great day.
