rating in recipe finder didn't work

Last night I rated two recipes in the recipe finder. Tonight I happened to go back to one of the recipes and didn't see my rating there. I checked the other recipe I rated and the rating didn't show up there either. Is there some not-so-obvious step that I missed? I'm frustrated that I took the time to rate these recipes and nothing happened!
