We are repainting our family room. It had colored walls and we are now painting it white. The ceiling is already white. My question is are both the ceiling and wall white colors supposed to be the same? The white on the walls is a creamier white than the pure white on the ceiling and I now think it looks funny.

I have a different color white on the walls than the white/white ceiling and trim. I think it's perfectly acceptable and correct. Maybe you just need to get used to it? :)

Depending on the tone difference, the room might look bigger or smaller. If the ceiling is darker the room will look larger, if the ceiling is lighter, the room will look smaller.
