It's time to start a new weekly thread. This morning, I had a quick workout with weights. I had a really tight schedule today so had to be creative. I did everything I planned to do though..just much more compressed than normal.

Good work, Melanie! I am good at making excuses about working out when I'm really busy - I need to take your lead:)
Yesterday I got to the gym for strength circuit class early, so I rode the bike for 15 min before class, which was tough, but good!
Today I did 45 min on the elliptical and some ab work.

What a day. Dropped my car off at the shop because it was making a strange noise and was then picked up to ride to Columbia for a full day of the most agonizing mind-torturing class I've attended in a very long time. The car was a timing belt issue to the tune of $247. <sigh>
Since paying the bill, things have been a little better. I attended a yoga class and was FINALLY able to donate blood. For the past couple of years or so, it's been either hemoglobin a tiny bit too low...or blood pressure a tiny bit too high (by exactly one number in the wrong direction). I was finally successful and have the bright purple bandage as my war wound. :D
Who's next? Go ahead and top my day. You can make it easy and just start with my second paragraph. Nobody should have to go through that first paragraph in the same day.

Hi Sheila and Melanie! Good job getting in your workouts! Sorry to hear about your car, though, Melanie!
I did yoga yesterday and was glad to get that in as I raced around the rest of the day doing "Mom stuff".
I haven't done anything yet today, but I am getting ready to do the TM. Thought I'd mention it so I won't get sidetracked and wait until it's too late. I'll be back later to confirm! :D

Great work everyone! Congrats on being able to donate blood, Melman! I can see how that would make you feel good.
I played soccer on Sunday and went to the gym to do strength training yesterday morning. I am 6 for 6 on those workouts. Haven't jammed out yet! :)

Today was the last day for water aerobics in the outdoor pool -- it was about 75* in the pool, and 67* outside when we got in -- our goosebumps had goosebumps! It only took about 5 minutes for us to warm up, and warm up the water to tolerable limits! I guess cold water makes you burn more calories!;)
Thursday, we're moving to the indoor pool, so complaints from now on will be about snakes or too hot/too cold water!

Back to report 60 min on the TM....DONE! :)
Hi, Kay and oceanjasper. Way to go on those weights! 67 sounds a little nippy for the outdoor pool, Kay. Good idea to take it inside.:D

Another 60 min on the TM for me. I was hoping to get some weights in, but that will have to wait for tomorrow I guess.

Aren't you a trooper, kathyb! I went to the gym this morning before work and did 75 minutes of strength training. I'll be missing my soccer practice tomorrow night to go out for dinner. Not a bad tradeoff! :)

Good work everyone!
This morning I tried a Power Pilates class - tough but fun:) The same instructor is teaching a Stability Ball Strength class tomorrow, so I may give that a try as well!

We moved to the indoor pool for aerobics, today, but it wasn't much warmer!:( The indoor pool is olympic-sized, so we had lots more water to heat up with our 5 bodies! <shiver> There was no breeze, so we actually had it quite comfortable by the end of the hour!;)

You must have really been working hard, Kay, to heat an olympic-sized pool! You go girl!!! :D
TM for me again today...just shy of 4 miles. Still didn't get the weights in, but tomorrow for sure.

The Stability Ball Strength class was actually a lot of fun! I wasn't sure what to expect, but we did a combo of cardio, weight work using the balls, and some Pilates core work with the balls. I'll definitely be back for that one:)
Happy Weekend!

I would love to try a stability ball class! Has anyone ever been in a class-type setting for the BOSU ball? I always thought that sounded like fun too.
I did a wonderful yoga class last night and then did 40 minutes on the TM this morning. After I came back home, I also mowed the yard. The weather has been so dry most of the summer, I'm not sure I've mowed more than about 4 times. It's been weeks since the last time.

Well, my abs and inner thighs are not too happy with me today;) I did some stretching when I got up this morning, but that's it. Between cross-country meet and a soccer game, we have been away from home all day.
Melanie, I would love a BOSU class too! So far, nothing like that at my gym.

Somebody has mentioned the BOSU ball before, but I don't remember who. I have seen them since then, and they DO look like fun! We haven't mowed in a while, either, Melanie, but we need to soon. Since the rain this week, our weeds have taken off!
Sheila, how is your son's CC season going? I love CC meets. It is the one sport that you have to be in fairly good shape to be a spectator! I'll bet you got your share of running in at the meet. :)
I did the TM and some weights/yoga yesterday. Today and last night was a lot of work setting up and running and taking down a garage sale with my GS troop. They did pretty well, but now I am beat! Off to bed with a good book for me!
