Maelynn:

What happened to me. I registered a very long time ago and have not cancelled. I have reservations and am bringing my SO. Am I still on?

It turns out that I can't go afterall as there are several things competing for my meager financial resources and I can't seem to find a flight that is reasonably priced or arriving/departing at a reasonable hour. I will be there in spirit though.

Wendy don't feel bad...I am in the same boat. Lot of changes at work and can't commit to anything right now. Things are bad out there in the working world right now (in MA anyway). http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif

But don't fret, we can keep the board hopping while the kids are away! Hehe http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Thank you Mamasue and Kim for your support. I got a really nice email from Natasha and need to drop her a line today.

I live about 4 miles from an airport that has fewer flights (John Wayne)than Ontario or LAX (each about 40 miles away and traffic to LAX is a nightmare)and is therefore more expensive and the flights were either way too expensive or arrived/departed too late or too early.

I can completely empathize with you Mamasue about the work situation for I have been there myself. Kim, I'm sorry that you have to teach summer school this year. My sister has been a teacher for 30 years and she really looks forward to her summers so that she can regroup.

You can bet that we WILL keep this board HOPPING in the meantime http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif.

Hey! Maybe Cooking Light will send us a souvenir because we couldn't go. Maybe a T-shirt...I will take a double extra large....love them roomy to use as a nighshirt. Or maybe a wooden spoon with the CL logo......hmmmmmmm http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

And maybe also a Cooking Light mouse pad for all the bulletin board junkies? I have even seen a computer mouse - not the mouse pad - with advertising ... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif Nah, actually Sue, I think I like your ideas better http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

maelynn - i think the t-shirt idea is actually a great idea - when I've been telling people about this trip, some were like what's Cooking Light? And the other response has been - they're doing what???
