Well, after much cursing and frustration with a really slow computer, I finally got all of the photos scanned in and set up on a web site. Actually, it's on four pages because I couldn't figure out how to link them together. At some point I had to make a decision: remain frustrated at the computer or go make chocolate mousse. But is there ever really a decision to be made when there's chocolate involved? I don't think so.

So anyway here are links to this amateur's attempts to bring you photos.

SusieO,

THANK YOU....THANK YOU SO MUCH! You took me there with your description and pictures. I appreciate all that you have done to let us see your and other CLers excitement.

http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif........And a true picture of that can of Green Stuff. Did you notice that there is a red can on the shelf? That must be another form of fake cheese....maybe Romano! Shame....shame....shame Cooking Light! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

SusieO,

Thanks so much for the pictures! I had misplaced my camera and did not get a single picture of a most enjoyable weekend. We had taken the camera to Louisville the weekend before to take pictures of my new grandson who was meeting us there for a few hours. When we got home my DH put it in a guest bedroom under a package. We looked "high and low", called the daughter to look in her car, etc. We found it on Tuesday after the CL Weekend.

Thanks again for all your hard work!

Thanks, SusieO, I have e-mailed you my address. I would like photos of everyone, not just us and am willing to pay ransom.

Yes, I did get photos of that grandbaby. My mother, his great grandmother, says she is worried about his eyes being damaged because someone is always flashing a camera in his face. He is the first grandchild and the first great grandchild so he is quite the center of attention.

SusieO, nice job, you are a great
photographer. I enjoyed the weekend

Great job, Ila. Everytime I want to relive the weekend I will just read your website and view the pictures. I have a bunch of pictures that I took while we were there, but I wouldn't attempt to put them on a website. However, LynnSC has said she will use some of the pictures and set up a webpage when she gets home from vacation. Hope you get to make some chocolate mousse soon!!! Kathy

Susie,
You did an awesome job with your album of photos! Looks like you all had such a great time. Is it just my pc, or are there names for the pics in the third link? I tried several times to see if they were there and it's blank; there's just pics.. I was just wondering who all those happy faces belong to? Thanks, http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Zinnia

Zinnia,

If SusieO (or anyone else!) doesn't get a chance to name everyone in those photos - I will give it a try! Although I only know about 80% of those happy smiling faces! Unfortunately, there just wasn't enough time to get to know everyone as well as I would have liked to!!!

Anyway, FYI: me and my DD (Kendra) are the two in the front of the 3rd photo, and in the last photo w/ SusieO! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Thanks, Lynn! I had good intentions of responding to Zinnia's request, and never turned my computer on all weekend.

In photo 5, to Peter's left are Pat and her husband Jerry. Managing editor Hillari (last name escapes me) is seated next to Mary Kay Culpepper, and to her left is Denyce's husband, George.

All in all, good work!

It is great to see these pictures! Just out of curiousity, how did those who are not current posters yet even get in on this weekend? I mean, how on earth did they find out about it? Or were they lurkers on the board?

Wish I could have gone!

Laura,
I can't speak for everyone, but in my case, I traveled w/ my DD and 2 friends (who were also a mom/daughter combo). My DD is 16, loves to cook (has her own CL subscription!)- and yes, she is a lurker. Of my 2 friends, the mom is a big CL fan but she doesn't have the Internet. The daughter is also a huge CL fan, but didn't know about the BB and the Weekend in B'ham till I told her about it. We were all thrilled to go!

The girls I went with love CL and love to cook. But as far as the boards go they were readers. Althought Michelle (eggbeater) has had more postings since the trip.
That's the one thing we learned on the trip. They have 3000 people a day log on to the site! It was funny and I can't remember who said it but someone said, "I thought there was only about 30 of us!" So apparently there are a lot of lurkers or as I say readers out there. You might not realize it but if you are a poster you have a large addience of people reading what you say!!

Actually that's about 20,000. No pressure, of course.... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif
