We were just listening to that, as well! (in the car, so not able to watch) Too exciting! There were several times we didn't think they'd pull it off.

Yeah, but did he have to do it against the Chargers? :(

Well, silly me! I took off with about three minutes left before the half to run errands. The car that pulled up next to me at the gas station had the windows open and radio on. At Target, all the tvs in the electronics area were on mute while a big radio was blaring the game. It was NOT piped in the grocery store, so I had about a 10-12 minute gap, but that was during halftime. They were still down 17-21 when I rejoined DH and the dog on the couch. It was a nailbiter. The tv cameras patrolled the concession stands at one point -- hardly anyone had left the bowl, the seats were all filled!
I don't know if the radio guys mentioned it, but after he threw the tying TD, Brett was seated on the sidelines, looking at his feet and kind of hammering his hands against his helmet. DH was exclaiming, "Look at that! He's always jumping up and down cheering the team on at times like this!"
It's great to live in Green Bay on a day like today! (And part of that is because I can leave shortly before the half and get all my errands done in an hour because 1) there's no traffic and 2) there's no one in the stores!)
And Laura, sorry about it being the Chargers. But it had to be somebody!

Ok...so are we still your "home team?" Once a Packer Backer, always a Packer Backer.
I grew up 20 miles from the Minnesota border, where the fans were kind of split 50/50, and this was in the 70s when the Vikings were making it to the Super Bowl (and always losing, I might add. Anyone remember Fran Tarkinton?) As a lifelong Packers fan, I prefer living here. The weather is milder, too. :p

I'm here, I'm here!!! 3-0, Baby! I know, waayy to early to speculate there
What a great game to watch (and to think I pitched a small fit when DH bought himself the 52" plasma TV with the NFL Sunday Ticket:rolleyes: ) Brett truly seemed excited to be out there playing, and he seems to be playing with a new focus and attitude.
As an aside, there are two former Boise State players on the team (Darryn Colledge and Corey Hall) which makes it even more fun to watch - like we need that when they're playing so well:D
Laura - Sorry about your Chargers. It actually would have been better if we'd taken care of the Raiders today;)

I loooooove shopping during a game. Even when it's an away game the stores are empty.
Now I'm sorry I missed the game. :( We had company coming afterwards so I was busy cleaning and cooking. We had friends at the game- one of which had never been to a game before, so I'm so thrilled for them that it was a great game to be at.

I just want everyone to know that they real reason they're 3-0 so far is because I have not been watching the games due to having no TV whatsoever. You can probably rest assure, that, should they lose, it will be because I'm either home and watching with the family, or I happen to have it on in the background.
I will do my best to stay away and get updates through my mom or the internet, thus allowing us to reach the Super Bowl.
GO PACK GO!!!

GO PACK GO!!!
:D
You know it!!!! It was a great game. Brett looked like a kid after those touchdowns, jumping on his teammates and celebrating. I'm so glad he didn't decide to retire yet, and I hope we can get at least another year or two before he does.

I'm a Packer fan through and through, and was THRILLED to see a thread about Brett this morning! DF is from Green Bay, and even more of a wacky fan than I--we're both in pretty darn good moods for early on a Monday morning :p

Jackie-O, I live in the Twin Cities. I moved from GB on a whim 23 years ago. MY job & falling in love and getting married is why I have stayed. This is a great place to live. I do love to visit GB and experience simplicity!
Yes, I am still a Packer Fan and will never be a VIKING fan!! Can't wait for the next game!

I am, and always will be a Colts fan...BUT, if I had one other team to root for, it would be Green Bay. I've always adored Brett Favre, obviously for his talent, toughness and work ethic, but most importantly because he is such a good guy. Congrats to Brett and to all the Packers fans!

And for me, the only thing that made the day salvageable is that the Broncos lost. :p Any wagers for the game on the 7th Robyn?

Sunday is only four days away!
John Madden was in New England to announce a football game one weekend when he noticed a special telephone near the Patriots' bench. He asked QB Brady what it was used for and was told it was a hotline to God. John asked if he could use it. Brady replied, 'Sure, but it will cost you $200.'
John scratched his head, then thought, what the heck, I could use some help
picking games. He pulled out his wallet and paid $200. John's picks were
perfect that week.
The next week, John was in Indianapolis when he noticed that same kind of
phone on the Colts bench. He asked what the telephone was for and Manning
told him, 'It's a hotline to God if you want to use it, it will cost you $500.' Recalling the previous week, John pulled out his wallet and made the
call. John's picks were perfect again that week.
Last weekend, John was in Green Bay , when he noticed the same kind of
telephone by the Packers' bench. He asked Brett Favre, 'Is that the hotline
to God?' Favre said, 'Yes, and if you want to use it, it will cost you 50
cents.'
John looked incredulously at Favre and said, 'Wait a second, I just paid
$200 in New England and $500 in Indianapolis touse the same phone to God!
Why do the Packers only charge 50 cents?'
Favre replied, 'Because in Green Bay , it's a
local call...Welcome to God's Country.'
Ain't that the truth? ;)
