Hi!
I am new on this board. I have been receiving Cooking Light magazine and have the cookbook. I am a college student and a group of my friends and I get together once a week to cook. Because some of my friends live in the dorm, we tend to always cook at my house. That I don't mind. Any suggestions on how I can make sure everyone pays me back for the groceries. Being a college student, I don't have enough money to feed everyone once a week. Please help me I really enjoy cooking and want to continue.

Also being a college student, who also loves to cook I understand! My suggestion would be to ask for money BEFORE you shop. Suggest maybe $5-10 from everyone. Then if you need more, ask or if not, give back. I'm sure they won't mind. If you don't mind me asking, where are you from? If you don't want the whole board to know, my email is Joyfeet@yahoo.com. Just curious! Good luck and happy cooking : )

I belong to a Cooking Light cooking club and maybe what we do can help you. During the next dinner have everyone select something they would like to try from an issue. Whatever the person selects they would be in charge of getting the ingredients to make dish. They bring the ingredient with them to the dinner and everyone still gets to enjoy cooking together and you don't have to worry about footing the whole bill. Main courses can be more expensive than sides or desserts so make sure that everyone selects a different course each time. That will ensure more equal money spent.

Hope this helps.
