I know everyone has different types of dinners ( or lunch, brunch etc), but we just had a blast this evening and all we did was eat and talk.
Our theme was on Comfort Foods and our menu was as follows:
Corn and Chicken Chowder
Mashed Potatoes
Green Beans with olives
Italion Meat Loaf
Biscotti with home made hot chocolate
Apple Crip
Compared to many groups our group may be considered pretty small ( typically no more than 5 people), and yet the discussion about food and health, and life in general are always so eye opening and truly insightful. I always leave our dinners completely inspired and re-energized about cooking healthfully, and living actively.
It's funny, from the surface, we are a group that in most cases would most likely have never met - Our group is made up of a banker, another member works for an investment house, a professor, a health specialist, a web designer, and a consultant, - age gaps are there, cultural, even most likely political preferences, yet food connects the conversation to enable each of us to discover new things beyond our own "comfort zones"
So, for anyone desiring to start a supper club, or in the midst of one, please know it is not only a fun way to spend a few hours, but also a valuable way to learn.
