The (first) Cincinnati CL Supper Club is meeting again next Wednesday, April 25th, and the hostess has picked an interesting theme -- foods you eat with your fingers! I am wracking my brains for something more challenging to bring than cookies or corn on the cob! (But don't give me any ideas -- I feel like that would be cheating!) I'll post here after we've met, to let you know what everyone comes up with and how it all tastes.

I hope everyone else's clubs are going well. I'd love to hear more about what you all are doing!

Becky,

The finger foods theme sounds like so much fun... but it is super hard to resist not coming up with ideas for you!!! I really look forward to hearing what others decided to prepare. What a wonderful myriad of possibilities are out there!!!!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gifHave fun, Gina

I've decided I'm going to make stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. I'm using the "Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms" recipe that is on the CL recipe search, but I am going to use baby portobellos rather than the large ones.

Our hostess did let us know that she is doing "wraps" for our main course. We haven't heard yet what anyone else is making. I'm really interested to see what everyone comes up with. And of course I'll give a full report afterwards!

Since you have decided what you will be bringing, I will go ahead and post one of the thoughts I had. I learned not too long ago that asparagus is traditionally eaten with the fingers dipped in hollandaise. I thought this would be a fun thing, although, if you are doing light, you would have to come up with a light hollandaise or other dipping sauce. Gina

I like chilled apsaragus with a dip made with equal parts mayo and mustard and a squeeze of lemon or lime juice http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gifJust FYI
