April Supper Club Report

We had our supper club meeting this evening, and as usual, it was great. We had:

Spring Tortellini Salad - I give this a 10, and everyone else loved it too. I've made this one before, so I knew it was good.

Strawberry and Kiwi Salad with Basil - We gave this one an 8. I loved the "dressing", and the basil was a different twist with the fruit, but very, very good. I got to take home the leftovers!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

Carrot-Ginger Soup - (the one from April) - Very good. This got ratings ranging from 8 to 10. It was very thick and had a lot of flavor.

Risotto with Asparagus and Peas - This wasn't spectacular. It needed some flavor. It wasn't gross or bad, just extremely boring. We all rated it a 4 or 5.

Chocolate Walnut Cake - A perfect 10!! Fantastic. I will make this one again for sure. Everyone loved it. SOOOO rich and fudgy - you'd NEVER guess it was light!

We were missing one person tonight (her dog is ill), so we would have had the Mozzerella Herb Marinated wraps, but we'll do those at next month's meeting instead!

And then there was all the hysterical laughing. We had a great time.

I'll be interested in hearing about the wraps. I keep planning to make them but haven't managed to do so yet.

Oh Goodie!!!! Some Grace reviews!!!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif I agree with your evaluation of the first three menu items (why am I not surprised?!). So sorry to hear the Risotto was a disappointment. I have finally overcome my risotto failures and have been making it a lot lately. Oh well, will skip that one now. I have been eyeing that Chocolate Walnut Cake for awhile. Can you tell there are dates in it? I think I will try it when my parents come to visit in a few weeks. Thanks for all the reviews!!
