Our group had its first get-together. We did appetizers and desserts, which was fun.
Unfortunately we made a big mistake -- we didn't ask our members to bring copies of their recipes! Do most clubs do this? Several were from non-Cooking Light sources, which we agreed was ok. As a result, I don't have a very complete listing of the recipes we tried. Here are a few recipes that we devoured:
Toffee Dip with Apples (CL -- yummy)
Texas Sheet cake (CL -- also yummy)
Pecan Tassies (CL -- excellent filling, crust was tougher than the high-fat tassies)
A brownie/cheesecake dish from CL ... its name escapes me ...
Stuffed mushrooms (excellent, not CL)
Open faced salmon sandwiches (also very good, not CL)
Veggies and sundried tomato dip (not CL -- very good)
Hummus (not CL -- very different from the usual hummus)
I'll try to get the recipes and post them. Sorry that this is a little incomplete.
Our next meeting is a family cookout. Will be searching the postings for ideas...
