It was a dark and stormy night here in Atlanta...Well, we got some much needed rain. Alot of it.

6 of us had met at a Mexican restaurant last month to discuss the details of our new supper club. We decided that the 3rd Saturday of each month would be our day. Our first dinner would be an Italian theme. One of our members made a wheel/pie chart with everyone's assignment--appetizer, salad, entree, starch, veg, and dessert. The Host would always make the entree, and then we would switch the wheel accordingly for our assignments for the next meal. It was a great idea. Well, we have picked up two other members, so we have a added two "wild card" slots, where you can bring whatever course you want!

Our meal was: goat cheese bruschetta and also roma tomato bruschetta for an appetizer, caeser salad, chicken parmesan, homemade fettucine, homemade marinara (two kinds!) stuffed squash, balsamic caramelized onions, garlic bread, and Italian cream cake. It was fabulous!

We are also bringing copies of our recipes and we will create our own cookbooks from these recipes.

We are looking forward to our next meeting, June 23, for a summer barbecue/cookout.

Good idea! Can you explain the wheel? Does each person spin?

Actually it is hard to explain, but I will try. Picture a circle divided into pie wedges. Each wedge is a course (app, salad, etc.) There is another circle outside that with everyone's name. When we are deciding assignments for the next dinner, we move the wheel over one position. For example, if I did the entree this time, the course next to that is dessert, and that's what I'll make.

I hope that makes sense!

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to get a group together and I like this idea.
