I thought the Friday Night Lights was awesome tonight. OMG it was good!!!
I like all of the story lines but the Tyra one. I wish they hadn't decided to get rid of the body. Love the Taylor's story line and really like the Lila storyline too. Can't wait to see what Lila will be confronted with this season and how her faith will affect her decisions.

I loved everything except the Tyra-Landry story. I loved their storyline last year, and I'm not sure how those characters ever recover from what just happened. There is no way they get away with this - the guy's car is at the convenience store, and he was bleeding when he fell. so if they confess, or get caught, or even if they didn't *really* dump the body and we were misled, these two characters can't ever be the same again. Especially Landry, who was so much fun because of the wise-cracking cluelessness and the totally adolescent, hopeful crush on Tyra. This is the kind of over-the-top ratings stunt that I hate.
Our local TV critic adores this show, and he wrote a very long column yesterday about the Bad Thing with Tyra and Landry and how it has show-ruining potential.
According to the critic, NBC apparently released the pilot online for a few days, a week or two ago. What is interesting is they released two versions. In one, Landry hits the guy with a bottle, while the guy is still struggling with Tyra, and you see them standing on the bridge contemplating the water, but NOT driving away in a later scene. In the other, which is the version we saw last night, Landry hits the guy with a pipe or bat AFTER he's released Tyra and is leaving, and we see a scene of Landry and Tyra driving away after apparently dumping the body.
Here's the critic's blog about last night's episode:

The New Yorker review said the exact same thing about the melodramatic potentially series ruining plot twist.
And there wasn't enough football!

There wasn't enough Riggins!!! ha ha ha...
I will probably watch this again tonight since I have it on my DVR. I loved Lila's prayer at dinner - that was hilarious. That and Buddy telling his ex-wife that he didn't want his kids becoming hippies because of her health food store owning boyfriend. Too funny!!
I wonder how they will get Eric Taylor back to Dillon?

I kept yelling, "CALL 911!!"
I guess I should be glad I wasn't watching with the windows open :D
Count me as another who hated the Tyra/Landry plot twist.
And yes! Get Eric back to Dillon NOW!!!

The other coach is going to do something really bad, his daughter is going to do something really bad, or his wife is going to do something really bad!
And yes, more Riggins would add to the plot development.
