E 1 Please read & feedback..really think this not good

As I've mentioned b4 I am part of another cooking site... this was one of the issues today... I have copied and paisted the first few until me( my origional post)....things got worse within the posts, baggering the poster. Now I have C&P'ed my last post since the origional. Is this how we really appear to other nations and act to other societies...has America turned bigitry, flying colors we believe in but not grant true freedom for all and what the hell did I fight for in Saudi...and why did my father got to Vietnam and my GF to WWll?

This is not meant to be a war within our community but this is an issuse that needs to be addressed.

Dont hate gays by any means...played softball on a team for 10 years where only 2 of us were "str8"..so no, alot of my friends to this day and the best ones I have, are gay.. do I belive in it...no...do I tolerate it...yes..People are People and Human is Human..My GOD is your god...does he love us unconditionally, YES.. therefore, to each his own,, it's their answer and understanding of GOD at the Pearly Gates,, not mine or anyone elses..

I can't answer for anyone but myself. One of my very best friends is a lesbian and I have a nephew who is gay...but I do not judge them. I don't understand it, and it is not who I am, it is who they are so I worry about I percieve are my rights and wrongs and let everyone else fiend for themselves. My friend and I have discussed this and I let her know up front that it wasn't a big deal to me. I like her for who she is, and what a wonderful friend she has been to me. And I was there for her during a very painful break-up, that she had. Her sexual orientation is of no interest to me, just like all of my straight friend's sexual stuff is of no interest to me.

I know what the Bible says, but the main thing to me is that God's word says not to judge. I leave that up to God. I try to live my life the way I think God would have me to live it and let everyone be concerned with their own lives. Comparing ourselves to anyone else is only going to cause pride or very low self esteem.

And there are people who are going to judge us for every little thing we do, one's sexual orientation is only one small bit in the matter.

It seems like you were really worked up about that conversation! I completely understand that you might want to talk with people about the reaction on "the other board," but I have to admit that I feel like it brought a bit of the venom that might exist there to our community.

I think that you're looking for people to agree with your viewpoint. But just like on the other board, you're going to find people who agree and disagree with you.

I don't see where it gets "ugly". It seems that people are debating an issue. I don't see any personal attacks being used. To me, debating an issue is stimulating and interesting and I usually end up learning something. When a debate gets "ugly" is when the issue is no longer the heart of the discussion and it digresses into attacks on the people rather than their opinions. I don't see that as what happened on your "other board."

Did not mean for it to get ugly but it really did on other posts in that circle..my whole intention is for equal rights no matter what your religon is, creed, color or sexual orentation...Maybe I sould of not said anything..(maybe my bad day today reflected my judgement)(my DH had to fire a good friend of ours at work because hes and alcoholic,yet hes sober at work) but, yeah it worked me up..did not mean to start a major issue..I love this site and the community. I don't want you to feel as though you are unwelcome here, but, please understand that bringing this debate here feels to many of us as if you are trying to stir up trouble. We do pretty darn well at stirring up our own without needing to jump on the bandwagon of another board's debate. I understand that you are steaming mad about this woman's opinion and I disagree with her as well (and I found the board this came from) but have no desire to debate something with someone who cannot respond. This issue, from your other message board, needs to be addressed by OUR community? Why? I feel like if we want to discuss it we will bring it up. If you want to discuss it with us, then feel free to bring it up, but I don't think we need to address drama cut and pasted from your other board, we stir up enough on this one ourselves ;) .
