Okay, so there are a lot of people who cook from scratch on this board and turn their noses up at chain restaurants, but I'll bet I'm not the only one who has secret cravings or likes that are embarassing to admit!!
So, I'll be the first to come forth - I like Cheetos and Cool Whip (not together though - that was a different poll!).
Runners up would be these two appetizers - one is made with canned crab and a cheese spread (Crabby Carols) and the other (Polish Surprises) is made with sausage and Velveeta. Certainly not gourmet, but I can't stay away from them at parties!!
Anyone else want to make a confession???

I could name a lot here. But I am going to go with...Wow potato chips. Yes, that would be the chips with the fake fat that is probably as healthful as eating a brick. Yes, I know that I am much better off eating baked chips (or better yet, none at all!). I can't help it. There is something very satisfying to me about curling up with barbecue potato chips!

Great topic choice!! Promises to make interesting reading.
Although I have been baking most of my life and still love it, I enjoy certain kinds of packaged cookies (like the Keebler Vanilla Sandwich Creme ones). They re totally different from home baking and good in a totally different way!
(Guess I m not TOO embarrassed about it, since I ve just told who knows how many people ... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif !)

Kentucky Fried Chicken and the spicy drummettes from the Kroger Deli. I always feel like I should be wearing a fake beard, mustache and dark glasses when I buy and eat those.

Okay, I've kept this hidden from "the public" for a very long time...I confess that I have a weakness for SLIM JIMS http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/redface.gif ... there I said it and I feel much better! I don't know what it is about these things but everytime we go on a long car trip, I have to get a Slim Jim (usually the Tabasco ones!)somewhere along the way!

I'm sure that there are lots of embarassing foods that I like, but when I thought of this one it beat out most of the rest...
It must be a carry-over from my childhood, but I still secretly crave those hotdogs wrapped in crescent rolls. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif It's not something I eat regularly, but I think about them every so often and smirk!

Yummy- cheetos are great. I'll buy the Wise lowfat cheese puffs (like the puffy ones only). But my biggest downfall has got to be peanut m&m's. They stock them in the vending machine at work and sometimes they just call me from down the hall. Then I have to give in and buy a bag. Very distracting having M&M's calling you while you're trying to work.

Secret food cravings--okay--I admit it's disgusting but sometimes, I gotta have it.
Make egg noodles, mix with butter and ketchup. Put on a plate, sprinkle--no--pour shredded mozzarella over it. Microwave until cheese melts. An old boyfriend used to make these and like he said too--they are gross, but oddly satisfying......
kristi
I think the food I would be most embarrased to be caught eating is a peanut butter and fluff sandwich. OK - I truly have not had one in years, but I think about it every once in a while!
I do have a thing for Velveeta too - only when it's melted like on grilled cheese or queso dip!

I absolutely love cocktail weenies. I've never made them myself, but whenever we go to holiday parties, I load up my plate. It's a guilty pleasure.
I also crave a dish my grandma used to make when I was younger. She'd melt butter in a pan, brown bread crumbs and onions in it, and toss the mixture with gnocchi and frozen peas. Yuuummmmmyyyyyy. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Jelly Bellys for me - watermelon, juicy pear, and toasted marshmallow! YUMMY!!! I live about 3 hours from the factory but when I drive by I stop in their gift shop and buy the "Jelly Flops". They are the imperfect ones...odd shapes and sizes for a fraction of the cost. I'm not a purist so they don't have to be perfect. I sneak the big bag home and graze on them when my family is not looking. I also have a passion for Hot Tamales when Jelly Bellys are not around. Luckily I keep these cravings under control, but every now and them..... We'll just keep this as our little secret, OK????
What is the "fluff" in a peanut butter and fluff sandwich? That sounds interesting!
Happy Closet Eating Everyone!!!
Peggy
"Fluff" is marshmallow creme! It's really sweet so the peanut butter complements it beautifully! Mmmm!

Pigs in a Blanket (AKA hotdogs with american cheese in crescent rolls) are wonderful!!! I grew up eating them with kraft mac and cheese (another embarrassing food I love) at least once a week. I also love cheetos, cheese popcorn, processed cheese spread on triscuits...can you see a trend? Anything with cheese!
I also love M&M's, elephant ears from the fair, and breaded and fried pork tenderloins (an Indiana tradition!!!) So good with mayo! Yikes--I think I put on five pounds just typing this message. Bacon is another one, oh and peanut butter on a spoon right out of the jar, chunky or smooth, it doesn't matter! I don't eat any of this stuff too often, can't remember the last time I had a pig in a blanket (my mom's term) or any of the other stuff really (although I did have a tenderloin at a local fair on Friday--guilty!)
Fun topic--I have my few vices and I indulge too much! That's why I need CL, to counteract my cheese and peanut butter cravings!

For some reason this post makes me think of an odd food product that I had never heard of until we went to the apple festival in North Georgia last year...fried pickles. No, I am not kidding. They actually were pretty good, although the whole concept is kinda odd. Anyone else ever tried them?

What is it about riding in the car???
Cheese Curls....Slim Jims and those 2000%daily intake of sodium HUGE Dill Pickles.
At home? In Private? Light Vienna Sausages (whatever that means) microwaved and served with mustard. If I'm really in need of comfort food, I'll nuke em', chop em' and throw em' in with Macaroni and cheese.

Oh, I just remembered another embarassing food I eat! This one is eaten only in the privacy of my home and usually late at night...peanut butter (chunky preferred) and syrup mixed together and eaten with a spoon! This started as a child and has continued much to my husband's chagrin. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif

Susan, I do that with peanut butter, too! Get a soup spoon, scoop out a glob of peanut butter, top it with syrup or honey, and lick away. Great snack, I'm not even embarrassed about it! (Though I wouldn't exactly eat it in front of company. But wouldn't that be funny to serve as dessert at a dinner party - pass a big jar of peanut butter around with soup spoons and honey at each setting?)

I love beef jerky!! I haven't had it since I lived with my parents. Thanks to my brother the avid hunter, I used to also have deer (venison) jerky. very yummy! Someone mentioned slim jims - love those too. Hmmm? Is this a pattern?!
I'm not emabarrassed about any of this though - that is why I haven't posted until now. Myabe guilty would be the right word, but embarrassed, no.

Every couple of weeks I slink into a nearby Taco Bell for the same menu: one tostada and one bean burrito, no onions. I just have to have that duo every couple of weeks, with Fire Sauce. I even plan my Weight Watchers points around it! Would you believe, I've even scoped out a Taco Bell in another town that has the better consistency refried beans? With apologies to TB, they're not the best refrieds, but I am a frijoles junkie. Hey, it could be worse.

Pat, I LOVE Taco Bell......I have to run to the border too much. Things are now hanging on my border if you know what I mean.
Ok embarrassing foods...I eat:
1. spread peanut butter on bologna and roll up...very decadent!
2. pickled okra! I live in GA and it is a new obsession.
3. Sick but satisfying....black beans spaghetti mixed with chedder and topped off with a dolop of sour cream! Ate this a lot when I was single. My husband does not know this secret about me..could really gross him out.
This is fun!

Most embarrasing, huh?? Let's see, I love Vienna Sausages, rinsed. In my younger days, I had a Dr. Pepper and Cheetos for breakfast. I used to eat peanut butter out of the jar with a spoon. A friend of mine ate peanut butter and sour pickle sandwiches. :d

It's such a simple addiction-no fluff, no artificial cheese coloring, it's not from a can, no spoons needed to eat it-just a tall cold glass of milk. Yes, you guessed it folks-I'm a pathological Oreo cookie eater. Here's the method:take 2 cookies(it has to be an even #),open the cookies, scrape all the frosting onto one chocolate cookie, eat the plain cookies first and save the one with all the frosting for last.Yum!Drink the milk. Wipe off mustache. Go to bed!

My weakness is potato chips of almost any type, especially Jalapeno Krunchers.
But the thing I'm most embarrassed about eating would be canned Frosting spread on Graham Crackers. My best friend in high school turned me on to this over 20 years ago, and while I may only have it every 3 or 4 years, sometimes I've just gotta have it. When I'm alone, of course! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/redface.gif

Chocolate Chip cookie dough!
When I was in junior high school my best friend and I would go to her house after school when her mother was gone and make a batch of dough. We didn't bother to measure, or even put in stuff like baking powder, because we had no intention of baking them. Just eating with a spoon.
Now, I don't bake them very often, but if I do make them I only seem to get half as many cookies as the recipe says. (My husband shares this weakness, so I'm not the only one scarfing up that dough.)
I was thinking I didn't have any embarrassing food habits, just too many habits. But the Cheetos for breakfast reminded me of my occassional chocolate cake for breakfast (Texas Sheet Cake, it has cinnanmon and goes especially well with cold milk and hot coffee). I also have a pumpkin cake and a cookie recipe with oatmeal, rice kripsies and coconut that I have rationalized as being no worse than a cinnamon roll for breakfast when they are around. And I swear that Blue Bell ice cream eaten directly out of the container has significantly greater therapeutic values than if eaten in a bowl.

Oh, I eat just about all of the above! Not the peanut butter and bolgna though! The one thing I love to eat in private of course, because it drives hubby crazy, is peanut butter hot fudge sauce. Not just when it's hot, but the next morning when it's cooled, I grab the biggest spoon in the drawer and eat it while standing at the refrigerator!
fried bologna sandwiches on white bread smothered in ketchup-comfort food for a bad day--topped off with those snowballs cupcakes--(and then several days of walking off all those calories)......

As I read this thread, I find that I'm craving corn dogs on a stick!! You know the kind you get at country fairs. I haven't had one in well over 15 years, but I really could go for one now (too bad they're a little embarrassing to eat http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/redface.gif ).
Other hidden favorites are Kraft Mac & Cheese, OREO's (really dunked in milk to the point where some are so saterated that they fall into the milk before I get them to my mouth and then I spoon them up from the bottom of my glass after I drank the leftover milk - yummy), and peanut butter and banana sandwiches (which I've been eating at least 3 times a week since I've been pregnant).

I love this thread! Reading these posts made me aware of some other embarrassing foods I like. I was soooo gratified to see another secret noodle-ketchup person! I LOVE peanut butter and jelly and peanut butter and fluff--but I will make those and bring them into the office for lunch so I am not embarrassed. I am also a fried bologna sandwich eater--I like mine with a slice of cheddar cheese on top, melted. Yum! One of my other secret, hidden food grossouts are raw hot dogs--has to be Kirschners natural casing franks. That I even hide from the kids and my husband--he hates it when I do it. Before anyone says it--yes I know what hot dogs are made out of--and I still do it!
So there!

Yes, venison jerky rules!! I had never even tried venison jerky before I met my husband. Now we bring it on all our car trips. He didn't have time to make any for the last trip and I was very upset.
My grandmother came up with an odd concotion when we were younger. She used to make us a dessert where she'd layer ricotta cheese and canned pineapple and top it off with coconut flakes. It was always so good!
No cream cheese and olives, but cream cheese and jelly used to be one of my favorites. And peanut butter and banana on cinnamon bread.

There are a few foods on my list, but only one that I am really embarrassed about - Magic Shell ice cream topping! You know, the stuff that gets hard when you put it on your ice cream? Its just loaded with fat and preservitaves. It even tastes artificial - and I know what good chocolate is supposed to taste like (and this isn't it!!)!
I also LOVE store bought frosting right out
of the can, and cookie dough - oatmeal and chocolate chip (I also make it just to eat the dough). Oh, oh, oh, can't forget the double stuff Oreos. It's a wonder I have not lapsed into a diabetic coma yet.....

I looooove can cheese and buggles and stale cheese puffs, just open the bag and let it sit for a day. My mom also makes a mix at Christmas: peanuts, plain m&m's and raisins Yum!
my ultimate is pasta anything, and lots of it. The best is Franco-American canned spaghetti and meatballs. This I eat ALONE. One can has like, 22 grams of fat and 1024 mil.s of salt!! Vienna sausages drained with vinegar poured in the can, on crackers with mustard is comfortable, too. Peanut butter cookies, brownies, choc. cake - preferrably homemade which is why I don't get them much, thank goodness! This is making me daydream...a huge plate of any kind of noodles with velveeta and canned spaghetti sauce (the cheaper the tastier)...good thing I'm tall...-a
Does spaghetti and tomatoes (no seasoning, just a can of chopped tomatoes rate here? That's my husband's oddity. I grew up with peanut butter and banana sandwiches, but had never heard of peanut butter and fluff. I'm a smarter woman today.
None of you OREO freaks said anything about the Magic Dunkers -- the OREOs that turned the milk blue. My son HAD to have them after a friend did. OREOs were on sale, so I finally gave in and let him try them. He discovered that he HATED soggy cookies, but his mouth was sure blue whether he dunked or not.
Yes, I'm the same one who started the green ketchup post, but I let the kids learn some things from experience, even if the thought gags me. And I conceded that I might buy one bottle of green ketchup as a novelty. Now THAT will be embarrasssing after saying all I have about it. I guess it's a guy thing, and I'm out-numbered.

Great thread, everybody! I'd never heard of noodles and ketchup; may have to try that one! I love peanut butter and chocolate (both alone and together)! I love Reese's peanut butter cups and Friendly's Reese's peanut butter cup sundae! Several Friendly's near me closed, so I've made my own -- vanilla ice cream, with Smucker's Hot Fudge sauce and creamy peanut butter. My husband thought I was nuts, but now he does it too! For you Oreo lovers (thank you, my mom used to work at Nabisco), I've opened the Oreo and put peanut butter inside, then closed it back up -- great! I had Fluffernutter sandwiches as a kid; haven't done that for years though -- thanks for the memories! A family favorite is Entenmann's chocolate enrobed donuts (the ones Carol Burnett advertises on TV) -- I buy a box annually on vacation-- each one is 8 Weight Watchers points.

Oh man, where to start? Well let's start with what's already been said. I love Taco Bell, I love the Chalupas and their plain old Tacos. Cream cheese with olives, Love It!! My peanut butter longing is extra crunchy smeared on slices of apple. Now what I haven't seen yet. I love funnel cakes at the fair. And here is the big confession and I will probably be run out of Dodge for this one. McDonalds. I don't do it often which may be why I love it. But I am a sucker for their fish sandwich, fries and a vanilla shake. I think their shakes are the best. SORRY!!!! :0

My fiance and I knew we were made for each other when while at his mother's house he grabbed the Nacho Cheese Doritos and I started dipping them in sour cream. We both have done it for ages (although for that reason I no longer buy Doritos!) I also started eating oreos with peanut butter after watching the new Parent trap movie with my kids. I try to limit myself to just two of those.

I can't resist a bag of lime and chile fritos. I could easily eat the whole bag. Sometimes I dip them in cottage cheese, but usually I just eat them plain.
I'm also embarrassed to admit that I like Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. I've made homemade but my family prefers the Kraft. We are such gourmets around here.

OK, I hate to admit it, it is embarassing but, I like Spam. Slice it thin and fry it and serve with waffles. Yum! Also when I was pregnant I ate Taco Bell about 4x a week. I'm surprised the baby didn't look like that little dog!

Okay - someone else admitted it first so now I can fess up - http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif (Thank you Sandy!) Actually, I had forgotten about this one because I have it so rarely...
Every few years (literally) I have a McDonalds fish sandwich. Once I ve had it I don t really have the urge to go back to McDonalds for another few years. I think the craving comes from when I was a kid because then that was my favorite favorite thing at McDonalds - pure nostalgia at work, in other words.

I have one that no one has mentioned...maybe it's because my family is just weird?! One of my very favourite comfort foods is mushroom soup on toast - toast the bread just a bit so it doesn't get soggy, spread on Campbell's mushroom soup, and toast under the broiler until the soup is bubbly. We also used to put on small pieces of cooked ham or bacon. Yes, I know it sounds totally gross! My husband thought so, too, until I got him hooked. I rarely eat it now because it's SOOOO bad for me... but it's a nice comforting treat once in a while!

Oh, Jen! Our version is even grosser (But more wonderful)! We called it "tuna on toast" but it was just a can of cream of mushroom soup plus a can of tuna, heated and spooned over buttered toast. I, too, was embarrased to make this in front of my husband-to-be, but after one meal he became a bigger fan than me! We still eat it when the house is devoid of real food and we're hungry.

I can't read this post anymore! I get way too hungry!! Yes, I love McDonald's too! I go there and get the cheeseburger happy meal- last time I even got the teeny beany baby and I don't have kids! OK, mine are carried over from childhood, too -- maple syrup on cold rice and (but not together), white bread sandwiches with horseradish sauce and fresh parsley. I remember picking parsley from my mom's garden and sneaking inside to make these. My mom thought they were gross and would gag if she found out I was eating them!

My top three embarassing food weaknesses:
#3-- Salt & Vinegar potato chips. I can inhale an entire bag all by myself. Hint: Do not consume these when you are or will be in public. They give you breath more lethal than tear gas. My husband is kind enough to not make me sleep on the couch after I've consumed a bag (brushing your teeth and/or mouth wash are of little use after this snack).
#2-- Mini powdered sugar doughnuts (mentioned earlier). If these things were narcotics, I'd be in real trouble.
#1--Fried Cheese-Stuffed Jalepenos. Here in Texas they're usually called Cheddar Peppers, Poppers, etc. Dip them in ranch dressing. Yum!! I can eat a double order without batting an eye. Jack In The Box (surprisingly) makes the best fast food version of these.

Kraft Mac & Cheese (even though I haven't had it years)

I can't believe how many love Kraft macaroni and cheese. Not just any brand, but Kraft. It really is the best. McDonald's fish sandwiches are another one for me too. Just every once in a while, but it takes me right back to childhood.
My most embarrassing food has to be Swanson's Chicken ala King in a can served on white rice. It's gooey and filling and oh so good!
And peanut butter with honey. YUM!

Marshalynn--
I had no idea that another living soul ate stale peeps! I usually open the package and leave them in the pantry for a day or so--until they are very stale. And, the peeps MUST be yellow--no pink for me!
Curiosity has gotten the better of me. What are peeps?

Peeps are baby chicken shaped marshmallo goo covered in either yellow or pink sugar. They're usually available around Easter.

Ohhhhhh ... thanks Maggie! I've learned something today. I thought I'd see if I could figure it out, but I just didn't know what could come in pink and yellow and best enjoyed stale http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif Guess I was a deprived kid. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
Sounds like nobody likes fresh peeps, only stale ones!

My husband & I both love White Castle hamburgers. We were raised on them in St. Louis & have to get our fill when we make our annual trip at Christmas. In a pinch we buy frozen White Castles at the supermarket here in Miami. Not quite the same but better than waiting a whole year. I also love stale peeps!

Speaking of peeps, does anyone know if the bunny shaped ones are still considered to be "peeps"?
Maggie
07-18-2000, 04:43 PM
Well, if you ask me the bunnies are a poor substitute for the real chick-a-dee shaped peep. But technically, I'm not sure if both the bunnies and chickens are called peeps or if only the chickens are called peeps.

I can relate to the green olive and creamcheese sandwiches, but you haved LIVED until you've added walnuts to the spread.
My guilty pleasures are:
1)Jelly Belly's - I'm simply NOT to be trusted when there is a bag anywhere in my vicinity. 4 years at my weight goal AND a WW leader and I still can't have a bag in the house or I will eat every single one. Sometimes I go to the candy store in the mall and I buy 50 cents worth, just for a hit!
2)Wisconsin Wilderness Products Bittersweet Hot Fudge Sauce. Same sad story. Have spoon and no audience, will eat and eat and eat.
3)Leon's Frozen Custard - For those not from around here- frozen custard is higher fat content than the richest of ice creams. We have a custard stand within walking distance of our house, and also a few short blocks away from a WW location, where my face is known- which is probably the only thing that keeps me from running a tab there!
CathieA who is working late and is starved and has worked herself up to a custard frenzy as I write!

yummy, stale peeps and poppers. We have poppers here in NJ at most of our local restaurants and especially the bar/restaurants. You can get them with cheddar or cream cheese filling. I prefer the cheddar, myself.

Aw, CathieA, you can't forget about KOPPS!
(best custard in the universe... especially the Midnight Chocolate Cake!)

I have GOT to jump in on this one! I eat something my husband doesn't even want to look at--sandwiches on white bread made of American cheese and ketchup. Just that. I don't know where in the heck this came from, since my mother tolerates ketchup and my dad hates it because he used to use it to cover the flavor of the liver his mother fed him. But my older brother eats it too...go figure.

Lorilei- No, no, no. Kopps is good, but Leon, who invented the machines, is GOD of Custard. Besides, I'm a purist- my custard must be vanilla, although I will admit to having my car mysteriously appear in the Kopp's parking lot when the flavor of the day is chocolate raspberry truffle!

Hmmm. I forgot to weight in on the Peeps issue. Probably because this is a seasonal guilty pleasure. For those on Weight Watcher's, peeps are very low fat and therefore, low points! I crave the yellow chicks (well, duh, did you think I'd eat green ones) and they must be stale, stale, stale for ultimate eating pleasure. For those of you who have confessed, are you aware that there is a Peeps website? Hilarious.

Oh! I searched in Yahoo for "peeps" and found several sites. Absolutely hysterical, almost frightening, stuff! One page is dedicated to experiments done on Peeps bunnies and one is called the Peeps Show and has pictures of art work made out of peeps http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif . It even mentions eating them stale.

Oh Lorilei and Cathiea,
Leons, Kopp's-that's home to me!!!! I'm from Milwaukee, too! But I live on the East coast now. My parents and two of my brothers still live there. My little brother loves Kopp's burgers, and I have an Uncle who now lives in San Diego who stops at Kopp's everytime he flys in for a visit on his way from the airport(before he gets to my parents house!) Leon's was close to where my father worked(farther away from our home), so I never realy tried there custard, but I understand it too is out of this world! This makes me homesick. Have a double lick for me tonight(the calories don't count if you're eating it for someone else!) OK!?

There are so many embarrassing foods I eat, but I will narrow it down.
Nutty Bars (made by Little Debbie)! I put it on my grocery list one time and my husband found it. Now he makes fun of me every time I make a list. He always reminds me, "Don't forget the Nutty Bars!"
Hostess Ho Ho's are delicious too! I also enjoy Corn Pops cereal.
When I'm really desparate, I will eat chocolate chips straight from the bag!
Lucky Charms cereal and I'm 38 years old. I have to hide them from my 6 year old!

I've been a vegetarian for about a year, but when I ate meat, my secret vice was ... White Castle hamburgers. I used to be able to eat a six-pack of them in almost one gulp!

Slim Jims - the really long ones - mostly on road trips.
Process squirt cheese in a can on Chickin' in a Biskit crackers.
Gummy worms.

OK, I'll fess up, too: Hershey's Chocolate Syrup, straight from the can! A great, low-fat chocolate treat. (I must say, though, I don't keep the stuff in the house ...)

Velveeta shells & cheese - I could eat the whole pan myself. My family likes the powdered cheese stuff, but the shells and cheese is my favorite. Those mini powdered donuts have been calling me lately when I pass them at the grocery store, but I haven't given in yet. I used to eat those all the time when I was a kid. My latest fix is Murray iced oatmeal raisin cookies. 2 bags for 3 bucks. I could polish off a whole bag in 2 days. I have them with my coffee in the morning on my days off. Oatmeal cookie dough and nacho cheese doritos (although I usually buy the WOW chips now)! I also like canned apricots in juice - the ones with syrup are too sweet. The whole can at one sitting! This is a great topic! Oh, one more thing. Chef Boyardee Beef Ravioli - another holdover from childhood. We're talking serious comfort food here. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
How could i forget to mention Dairy Queen Blizzards? Mississippi Mud Pie is my favorite, followed by Reese's PB cup and Oreo. One summer a few years back, I must have had at least one a week. I used to get the Breeze, made w/frozen yog. instead of ice cream, but last time I checked, they don't make these anymore.

I guess the weirdest food concoction I eat is home made chocolate chip cookies dipped in Pace Thick 'N Chuncky Picante Sauce. The juxtaposition of chocolatey sweet and spicy tomato flavors is quite tantalizing!

How would you have EVER thought to dip chocolate chip cookies in salsa!

So much food, so little time! I reported my chocolate-peanut butter fetish earlier, but everyone's posts reminded me of so many other things! Katrina, my whole family adores salt and vinegar potato chips; my mom ate some at our house and thought she was poisoned! SandyDee, funnel cakes are great! And also zeppoles (we call them little fat balls). Lisap, I grew up eating fried egg sandwiches on toast with ketchup (now we add a slice of melted cheese, too). Natasha, we love (especially my daughter) chocolate-enrobed pretzels. Also, Kraft mac and cheese! CathieA, Wisconsin Wilderness Products bittersweet hot fudge sauce? That sounds Awesome! Do they have a website? This thread is not helping me stay on Weight Watchers! Ha!

omarv, I totally laughed about the Nutty Bars and chocolate chips. My husband is a HUGE fan of the Nutty Bars. I haven't bought them in a while, but when he first moved in, they were on the list every week. We have fights about how to eat them (I say peel the layers one by one, he justs chomps on it whole). Anyone else have their special way of eating the Nutty Bar?
He also gets into the chocolate chip bag. Let me tell you, he's a bigger chocohalic out of everyone I know, including all my girlfriends. When we were in collage, he would go to the gas station at two in the morning to buy Whatchamcallits and Kit Kats. I can always tell he's made a desperate attempt for chocolate when I find the leftover chocolate chips lovingly tucked away back in the pantry in a Tupperware dish (I usually leave them in the bag).
And Natasha, ditto on the Flips. Peanut butter fudge are my favorites!

TraceyK--
YUCK! is exactly what my husband said the first time he saw me eating the cookies and picante sauce! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
Yes, I admit, it is very bizzare. At an informal gathering one evening, I found that I had greatly misjudged my tortilla chip to picante sauce ratio. After consuming most of the other snacks on my paper plate, all that remained was a small pile of salsa, into which had slid two remaining chocolate chip cookies. Maybe I learned that clean-your-plate lesson too well as a child because into my mouth they went. Soon I was scurrying back to the refreshment table for more cookies to sop up the rest of the salsa.
I actually haven't eaten them in a long time, but next time I'm at a snack table at a party... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif

Okay, I knew this would happen. Here are the ones I completely forgot to mention. Extremely stale PEEPS, canned frosting with pretzels, Jelly Bellies (any combination of flavors), Nutty Bars (Love theses!!!!) and one of my all time favorite things in the world Chocolate covered pretzels (Flipz). And then of course Anything peanut butter! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

Does anyone else like those Pretzel Flipz? I know some people hate the combination of salty and sweet, and I can kind of relate to that, but for some reason I LOVE these. I find all three kinds (choc., white choc., and PB) totally addictive.

Hilarious Topic! The cookies & salsa got me the most.(yick!) I love peanut butter on york peppermint patties - something I picked up at summer camp as a kid. Oh, and actually, I eat this all the time - peanut butter on carrot sticks. I definitely have a thing for peanut butter. I also used to eat peanut butter & potato chip sandwiches - haven't had one in years though - but they were yummy!
