***disclaimer*** I was extremely distracted during this movie for 3 reasons.
1. I saw this review not realizing it's almost 3 hours long! BF and I decided to do movie and dinner instead of dinner and a movie and forgo popcorn. I hadn't eaten since 11 in the morning and was thinking about food during the movie!
2. The man sitting next to me had a seizure dog(I asked since the man wasn't blind). I kept looking at that dog waiting to see if it would spring into action. Yeah I know...shame on me.
3. There was an old man in a sweater doing laps around the theater. He'd run up one set of stairs across the back of the theater, and down the other set of stairs He did three laps before he sped out of the theater. I thought that was that but then he came back and did it again.
OK on to the review!
The Outstanding
-The cinematography in this film is amazing! Beautifully filmed with a score to match. The photography alone is worth the ticket price.
The Good
-Casey Affleck as the obsessed fanboy. A good performance, although, I got a little tired of the whiny voice and couldn't help but think of Ben when I saw his face in some scenes.
-Critics are praising Brad Pitts performance but I thought it was just ok. He lights a lot of cigars and tries to emote but I really don't feel he had a lot of presence in this film. Also the accent/twang was uneven and in some parts he sounded just like George Bush. Seriously, if you see the film close your eyes and listen.
-Hey! It's James Carville!!
-Paul Schneider looked hot!
The Bad
-The movie really dragged in some parts(did I mention it's almost 3 hours long?) and at times I didn't see the point. I was thinking, "assasinate him already!" Cuz you know it's gonna happen and does all the stuff leading up to it really matter? Yeah it does but that doesn't make it any more interesting.
