I have a Dell All-In-One 964 printer. I was happy with it until I put in new Dell ink cartridges and it won't recognize them as new and reset the ink level. I talked to Dell and they told me that it sounded like my printer was malfunctioning and that I needed to replace it. But that since it was past the 1 year warranty, they wouldn't cover that cost.

I really am not impressed that their printer didn't even last 2 years. So I won't be getting one of theirs again. I am assuming that when the printer thinks the cartridges are totally out of ink that my printer will just stop working (even with the new cartridges in it).

Any that you really love? I've seen the HP seems to be a favorite. I just really want something that won't fall apart. I can handle paying $$ for ink. I just hate any hassle with setting up printer to work with my wireless network, etc. so i don't want to have to do it again for a long time. In other words, I want the printer to work for ever and ever . . . or at least much longer than 2 years.

I have had a Canon i860 for about four years, and I love it. It has never given me a single problem. The thing I like the best about it is that each of the colored inks are a separate cartridge, along with one black for text and one black for photos. So you only replace them as you run out of the specific cartridge. You can get the black text cartridges at Costco for a very good price, and the colors go on sale at Target every month or so for 15% off.

My HP all-in-one is a couple years old. Last week I had a problem with print quality. I performed all the usual diagnostics, including reinstalling. I did the same through the HP site, then contacted them via online chat. The rep had me run a series of tests and after about 20 minutes I was back in business.

We've had Epson for years and then got an HP all-in-one. Other than the fact that it doesn't take one of our photo cards, I haven't had any issues with it. It's been very easy to use andto maintain. And the cartridges can be recycled -- no one would take the Epson ones.

As for the Cannon, HP or Epson, does anyone have any color fade issues? I currently have an Epson and am pretty happy with it, but it is very tired. I do a lot of photo printing and need to have something that can stand up to some light and not fade.

If you're serious about printing photos with the Canon, then you should get the special photo inks - they're a bit more expensive (of course) but they print better and don't fade. When I print a photo at home, it's usually not for "keepsake" quality, so I just use the regular inks.

Big HP fan here, never a problem. My children also use HP printers and love them too.

We had 2 Epsons that each lasted less than a year! Now, we have and HP PSC all-in-one, and have had absolutely NO problems at all!:D
