Hey, guys--
We need your help choosing a cover for an upcoming issue. Visit our homepage (http//www.cookinglight.com), and click on the Vote--and Win! contest in the left navigation bar. Cast your vote for the cover you like best out of the three choices, and you could win a 2001 CL daily planner! Thanks!

Hi,
I have tried to vote 4 times, and each time when I push submit, my computer freezes!
Not sure what the problem is!

Lisa--
We'll look into why that might be happening. Are other folks having trouble? This is the first time we've used this technology ... thanks for your help! Lisa D

I had to click on the survey & backtrack to find the place to click on the survey to vote.

I had no problem, either, but I voted at a kind of odd-ball hour when there wasn't a lot of message traffic on the board. Are the problems occurring during heavy traffic periods, maybe?

I didn't have a problem voting either. Is it cheating if I ask everyone which one you liked best???? http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Just tried visiting the page myself. Half the page displays (with three sample covers), but the bottom half the page lists the following:
An Error occured that is preventing this site from displaying properly.

I had no problem voting- I voted late morning yesterday. I kinda liked no. 3. There are so many desserts on the cover all the time, so an entree is nice to see once in a while - although I bet the desserts entice many to buy the magazine! My favorite cover entrees are always the pasta ones. They always look so good!

I'm cheating to get this message back to the top of the board ... Ralph, we'll check to see why you couldn't vote. Thanks. LD

I voted in the middle of the day, and I had no problem. I personally liked #1 best. I'm not a big fan of pork, so that made #3 not look as appealing to me, and I liked the picture of the whole cake in #1 better than just the slice in #2. I'm looking forward to that issue (can anyone say what month that will be?), because I want the recipe for that cake!

Listad,
I continue to receive the same message as Ralph...

I agree with MrsReber that entrees on the cover are more appealing to me than desserts, which I seldom bake or eat. But I voted for #1 because somehow the pork slices looked kind of, well, slabby -- maybe too thick or shot from a bad angle or something -- and not an appealing color (maybe this was a problem in my display, though). Otherwise, I would definitely have voted for an entree.
Oh, and I didn't vote for #2 because the balancing act seemed a bit too chi-chi for the kind of cooking we love in CL, and more like a Gourmet or Saveur kind of thing.
Hmm, come to think of it, Lisad, do you think for the next poll you might add a block for comments on why voters chose (or didn't choose) a particular cover? Would this help you folks?

OK I, it seems, and the odd woman out! I loved #2. I think it will draw a different market to the magazine in addition to us fabulous folks already devouring it every month. Diversification will pull in the stragler gourmets who have not tried our magazine yet! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

I voted for #1 because it looked the most appealing to me; although, I don't like coconut, so I really wanted to like #3 but didn't at all. My stomach turned a little . . . I guess it was the slabs of pork (which someone mentioned). They looked a little spammie (spam-like?).
lisad: Will you please post the results? It'd be fun to see how us Cooking Lighters voted.

Ralph--
We've figured out your problem--I think. Did you just type in cookinglight.com as the url? You need to type in the www. before. Don't ask me why ... but we're trying to fix it so the survey generator we use will recognize urls without the www.
Thanks--
And I'll let you know whether we can post results ... Thanks for all your great comments. Lisa D

Yes, that's me, the pasta freak. There was one issue that was late getting to my house. I saw the cover in a store and I had to buy it because there was this wonderful looking pasta dish on the front! I am not a big pork fanatic and I really do love desserts, but it seems there's an awful lot of desserts on the covers! However, as much as I love my desserts, nothing will make me open my CL faster than a picture of a good pasta dish (no seafood please!)

Like Mrs.Reber and Phoebe I prefer the entrees on the cover as I rarely make desserts and it seems they're so often on the cover - I liked the look of #1 best but did vote for #3.

I liked cover #3 best.
I voted for #1. Not only do I not like pork, I agree that the photo looked...odd. Maybe it was the thickness of the slices.
As for the dessert covers, I love them! I amost always make the front cover desserts. Meat may be tricky since there are vegetarians out there. What about a cover of a vegertable pasta dish for a change of pace? Wasn't that you Mrs. Reber who liked the pastas? And they are always pretty.

I would have voted for #1, but stopped when my email was asked for. It's o.k for you guys to email me at home, which is why my email is included in my profile, but I don't like to give it out otherwise unless I have to. I have a cookie crusher program at home. I also would have liked an entree, but no pork or red meat. Pasta works! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

I'm with MrsReber and RunnerKim. I voted for #3, but mostly because I'm tired of desserts on the cover all the time. Although the sound of the recipe gave me a nice fall feeling.

Actually, I didn't type anything! I have the bulletin boards page bookmarked, & linked to the homepage from there. Then, I clicked on the cover contest link which is where I got the error message.
Today, I had no problem & the page loaded correctly.
