Ok guys, especially Chicagoians-
Christmas idea time. Every year, rather than a "thing", we give my in-laws an "experience" instead. In past years, a sushi making class at The Chopping Block, and tickets to Wicked have been hits. But now I feel like we've done a class, we've done theater, now what? MIL and FIL live off Michigan Ave and really love the city culture thing. They love to dress up, they love to feel like they are meeting important/famous people, they love to feel like VIPS. So I'm wondering if anyone has an idea for, or could help me get in touch with someone to put together, a unique or really luxe feeling event. I was thinking of something like a private tour of some art collection, access to a dress rehearsal of a play or musical event....
Around here, charity auctions always have these sorts of experiences available...lunch with X Senator, sit backstage at the Kennedy Center for X performance....but I don't know if there is any way to access these kind of opportunities from out of town.
Any and all brainstorms appreciated.
