I have noticed a lot of people mention other magazines and I am wondering if we share common tastes in magazines other than CL.
I subscribe to Bon Appetite, Chocolatier, Conde Nast Traveller, Archtectural Digest and Shape Magazine.
I love chocolatier but hardly ever cook from it, I just love to drool over it every once in a while.
I usually use Bon Appetite for parties, my Christmas dinner for the past four years has always come from their Thanksgiving issue.

I think this is a great topic! CL is the only cooking mag I get, but I also get Newsweek, Smithsonian Magazine, Washingtonian, Outdoor Explorer, and Midwest Living (I grew up in the Midwest and like to keep in touch with what is going on there even though I live on the East coast). I'm thinking that Bon Appetite might join my mag list, but I already have trouble reading what I get now. I'm a magazine junky!

Good topic, Bern! I think it'll be interesting to see what other people read, too. I subscribe to Bon Appetit, Cook's Illustrated, Sunset (a west coast mag), and CookingLight, but I end up buying Food & Wine, Fine Cooking and Gourmet almost every month. I guess I should just subscribe to all of them, eh?

I only subscribe to Cooking Light and Martha Stewart Living. The Martha subscription was a gift, so I don't know if I'd actually buy it for myself. I sometimes find some nice (but definitely not low-fat) recipes in there, but most of the time they require bizarre or expensive ingredients. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to purchase her fine vanilla beans shipped right from Madagascar. I think I may ask for the Bon Appetit magazine for my birthday...

Besides CL, I also subscribe to Sunset, Chile Pepper Magazine, Quick Cooking, Sports Illustrated, Good Housekeeping, Readers Digest, Better Homes and Gardens and Style. Oh yes, and Highlights for my daughter!

Wow, you guys read a lot of magazines! I only get Cooking Light. I usually steal my mom's Better Homes and Gardens and Martha Stewart. And for some reason we get Gourmet here in the office, and of course we also get all of the travel mags, Conde Nast, Travel Holiday, N.G. Traveler, etc. here in the office as well (I'm a travel agent). Cooking Light is my favorite. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

I subscribe to Cooking Light, Fitness, Walking, Shape, and Time. My SO gets all the golf magazines. I also buy La Cucina Italiano every month and I subscribe to the Olive Oil of the Month club. I have just reordered a subscription to Weight Watcher's magazine which was out of print for a while but have heard it's back.

I subscribe to CL, Martha Stewart Living, Shape (which I notice has alot of the same newsy type artilces as CL), Real Simple, and O the Oprah magazine. My favorite is by far CL, because it covers everything from cooking to life. O and Real Simple are my next favs because they help me gain perspective. Also, if something on the cover of Bon Apetit, Gourmet or Choclatier grabs my eye, I'll pick up one of those. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

I have always been addicted to magazines. In high school it was Seventeen, Young Miss and Teen, in college it was Cosmo, Glamour, and Mademoiselle. Currently I subscribe to CL, Martha Stewart, and Rolling Stone. I read People,Vogue and Shape at the gym or I'd probably get those too!

Interesting reading what everyone reads...
I subscribe to CL, Cuisine, Cooks Illustrated, Style, O (Oprah's mag), Prevention, Health, Nutrition Action Newsletter, Yahoo! Internet Life, and a friend just gave me a gift subscription to Fine Cooking, which I've only gotten the first issue of, so I can't say if I really like it or not. I used to get Martha Stewart (got tired of the same stuff over and over), and Women's Sports and Fitness (just went out of print - darn! I liked this one!)
Anyhow, CL is by FAR my favorite, although I'm always happy when any of them arrive (I love "reading material" - that's what I call it).
My husband subscribes to mostly PC and gaming magazines. He doesn't have much time for reading, and we get the newspaper every day as well, so he reads that more thoroughly than I do (I like the Good Eating section every Wednesday - http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif ).

In addition to CL, I receive Bon Appetit, Nutrition Action, and Taste of Home. My husband's business gets other free subscriptions so when the magazines like Better Homes & Gardens and Family Circle get old, he brings them home. (Those are only the food related ones... we also get Adirondack Life, Outside, Backpacker and Outdoor Explorer. We're magazine junkies!)
CL is the only cooking mag. I subscribe to. I also subscribe to Southern Living, Country Living, Country Home, and the Mary Engelbreit magazine. Oh, and Better Homes and Gardens, which I won't renew once my 2 YEAR subscription runs out!

I love Health magazine! That's the only other one I subscribe to....I read self and shape (and whatever else is available) while at the gym. Sometimes I pick up travel mags just for fun or when I'm traveling. Oh--and Vegetarian Times when the cover looks appealing (This month the phrase "prize winning recipes sucked me in! Haven't had time to look at it yet.)
Whenever I get a spare moment to read for pleasure (not often--I'm a part-time law student), I usually pick up a book.

I had to recently cancel a couple subscriptions because I was going to have to move to a bigger house or build one just for all my magazines!!!! I now get CL, Traditional Home, Victoria, Premiere Mag, Country Living and (although I don't subscribe I buy it regularly) Better Homes & Gardens.

Wow! You guys are hard core! I only get CL. My husband off and on subscribes to Business Week. I guess I will have to pick some to subscribe to since I left my job where I got the ones the company would subscribe to. My favorites were:
Fortune, Mens ?? (god, I am drawing a blank--either Health or Journal--something like that and I really do love it, I can picture the cover), GQ, and O. Other than that--I sporadically pick up Gourmet at the newsstand.

Omigawd I am a magazine addict. In addition to CL I subscribe to: Met Home, Food and Wine, Gourmet, Martha, Coastal Living, Shape, Fortune, Utne Reader, Mothering, Consumer Reports, New York Magazine and 3 newspapers (The Asbury Park Press, The NY Times and The Coast Star - our local weekly). Recently Time started showing up but I know we don't subscribe to it. I just picked up a new magazine at the grocery store called Living Room. It looks interesting but I am going t give it a couple of more issues before I make any long term commitments.
I used to think I was crazy with so many magazines but I figure that I always end up buying them at the newstand anyway so I may as well subscribe and save some money in the long run.

Gee, and I though I subscribed to a lot of magazines! Now I think I need more. I subscribe to CL (my favorite too), Good Housekeeping (which I'm ready to give up), Better Homes and Gardens and People. Plus, my mom gave me a subscription to a quarterly magazine called Country Gardens. I'm going to start looking into some of the other food-related ones. Bon Appetit seems to be the most popular.

We receive Chicago magazine (just moved from there last year and want to keep in touch), Cooking Light (of course!!), Time, Entertainment Weekly, National Geographic, National Wildlife and Birder's World. My husband and I are both biologists - can ya tell? CL is my favorite by far though. I'm also a cookbook addict, but that's another story....

CL is also my favorite magazine subscription. No matter what I'm reading, it gets shelved until I'm finished with the latest CL. I also get Time, Velo News, Sierra, and Dive Training. I also read my husband's Backpacker. I'm just starting a subscription to Walking and BH&G. I just don't have enough time to read, or cook, or exercise, or sleep, etc!
iqueen,
Olive Oil of the Month club? Tell me more!

I can't believe how many magazines are subcribed to out there! I get CL and Martha Stewart, but I've been picking up back issues of Health at the library and considering subscribing. I bought a Real Simple, but thought it was Simply Boring. I'm glad to hear that a lot of people consider O (Oprah's mag) to be good. I will have to check that one out. I like Gourmet, but considering 90% of recipes are high in fat, I think I will stick with CL.
