And my DH is a darling, darling, DDH.

DH and I spent the weekend at thrift stores and consignment stores doing some fall bargain clothes shopping.

Yesterday DH and I visited a consignment shop in our neighborhood. I spied a beautiful black cashmere coat, long, with a swing bottom. It was a vintage Hermes coat. The price tag was an astoundingly low $190. DH said to try it on. I said "no, I don't want to love it." DH said to try it on. I did, it fit like a glove, and the owner of the shop knocked the price down to $160.

I bought a mint condition, vintage Hermes coat for $160. I stole this coat.

I'm still somewhat in shock.

Enjoy your steal!!! :)

We don't own a digital camera! :(

Grace, I just now realize you live in Chicago. I'll wear it tomorrow, stand on a corner at a certain time, and you can swing by and I'll show it to you. ;)

I love this place. I don't think I would have found this coat back in OKC.

Similiar to the one on the 2nd row, 3rd from the left. Mine is black, a little longer with a swing skirt, and the sleeves a kind of puffy.

Where was this? I think I need to add this store to my bargain route!

mbrogier, I found it at the Secret Closet in Lincoln Square: 4617 N Lincoln Ave, Lincoln and Leeland. I don't know how close that is to you, but it's just a few steps from the brown line Western stop.

I'm in Schaumburg, but Rob and I like going downtown.

I really like Northwestern Memorial Hospital's resale shop--it's near the Trader Joes going up towards Watertower Place. I can't remember the street name.

I wanted to visit the large Salvation Army store that you could see arriving by train into Ogilvy. My mom and I looked for it when we were downtown for a week last March when Rob had surgery, but we could never found it. I think it moved. The sign isn't on the building anymore, either.
