Wow, was last night's episode intense or what? Best one so far, by far. This season has been a bit iffy for me, but last night was great! To see the look on Rita's mom's face when Rita said she and Dexter broke up....Her wish came true and she knew it.

So, sex with the sponsor is one good way to relieve Dexter of his urges. ;)Although, he still went through with one of them.

I keep wondering when he's going to dismantle Dokes. The guy that plays Dokes deserves an emmy. He has that part nailed.

Next week's looks even more intense. Can't wait.

Have you read the books Hammster?

Doakes has a pretty interesting back story. I keep hoping they get into it...

I really hate the sponsor. She wanted to break Rita nad Dex up imo.

I haven't read the books. Hmm, maybe for my Christmas list. Hmmmm.

I've noticed they are referring to Doakes' military past and his past with the Lieutenant.

I'm kinda digging the sponsor. She is evil in a different way and really "gets" Dexter. Did I see fire in next week's episode?

I caught the first 5 episodes of the first season when Showtime was giving a "teaser" preview and now I can't watch the rest! I was really enjoying it and my video store does not have it in yet.

I really want to finish the first season. I have since subscribed to Showtime but don't want to watch the second season until I finish the first.
I thought that the books sounded interesting before I even knew there was a show being made. Maybe I should get a few of those.

Every week I ask DH.. What's up with Doakes!! I mean why is he sooooo vicious towards Dexter. Love to know the reason.
Perhaps you'd like to dish :p

I think they are finally starting to get to the root of his issue with Dexter. So, it's going to be interesting how that storyline develops.

I started to watch DEXTER via Showtime On Demand last weekend. I really disliked the first two episodes, didn't care for a lot of the casting, but it especially drove me crazy that so much of the plot hinged on coincidence. In episode two, there were four of them. Amazing how you can go to a dance club in Miami and there's a serial killing victim right next to it, or go to a bar and happen to run into......

Anyway, I'm eating my hat, because I'm totally addicted now and five episodes into Season 2. I loved some of the shockers at the end of one, but I'm enjoying 2 even more. Sorry, Kristi, I love the sponsor, who I call "Nigella Lite," but that whole Dexter-into-NA turn took some willing suspension of disbelief.

Favorite character? Angel, especially now that he's Oprah-enhanced. :)

I watched all the Showtime "on demand" episodes in a matter of 2 days...
Not sure why I loved this show so much...
I'm waiting for Season 3 :D .

Very interesting ending to Season 2---I'll leave it at that.

Looks like Season 3 starts in Sept.

**** SPOILER*******

I was really sorry to see Doakes get killed last season. In the books, he gets maimed in such a way that he can't talk but can still give Dexter a seriously hard time.
It turns out Doakes was a killer in the military and so he and Dexter are really 2 of a kind. Although Doakes could control his inner bad guy and I think he really didn't want Dexter to continue to be a bad guy. Oh well, he's gone now so Dexter gets to be Dexter.

Hamm, your Doakes info was more than a "possible" spoiler :( , though I kind of see that coming. Maybe best edited, or spaced down?

We watched Season 1 on regular TV this year and loved it. We do not have Showtime but I'm going to rent Season 2 when it comes out on DVD this August. I guess we'll always be a season behind!

I agree with whoever said that the actor that plays Dokes really has the part nailed. I can't stand him (the character!).

Looking forward to Season 2 - although I realize you all are in Season 3!!
