FIL mentioned the other night he would like a search light like his neighbor has. I presume it is some sort of hand held light. FIL lives on acreage so he was saying he would use it to look for coyotes etc. I did a google search and came up with a bunch of stuff that wasn't at all what I was looking for.
Where should I start? Auto parts store, outdoor store, lighting store????

Cabelas', Bass Pro Shops, and other sporting goods stores. Some automotive parts stores will have them.
Walmart might have them also.

Wow! That is some flashlight, isn't it??:D I am not sure what exactly he wants other than his neighbor is a fireman and he has some sort of high power search/spot light.
Thanks Gumbeaux! I should have thought of Cabelas....afterall, what don't they sell???? I remember Souther Living doing a nice article on their store outside of Austin and it sounded pretty amazing. I think WA is supposed to be getting one soon (if we haven't already) but it is going to be south of Seattle so not too close to me. I will rely on the internet for this - thanks again!

You could also try a boating supply store, we have a series of hand-held searchlights for our boats. If he wants to be able to roam about the property looking, you'll want to make sure it's not the type that requires plugging into a 12-volt source...

I got this one for Pat at Bass Pro. You can order it online here. (http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=49138&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults) It's a really great light.
