I'm having an unusually slow morning - so I declare that it's time for a poll! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
What do different parts of your kitchen say about you?
More specifically, your dishes?
Do you have new dishes, antiques?
Are you bright, plaid, eclectic?
Or are you a person who really doesn't think about dishes very often?

My everyday dishes are solid cobalt blue. I've accessorized with fire engine red bowls and platters... probably the more bold side of my personality (and it reveals my secret love for the color RED!)
My good dishes are ivory colored stoneware in a scalloped pattern -- very classic and versatile. Something I know I won't ever be tired of.

The dishes we're using right now are a mish-mash of partial sets. Some were my mothers that are Corelle and some are ones my husband collected from gas stations. When this was just a weekend place it didn't matter, just as long as everyone had a plate! My real everyday dishes we bought in the UK about 16 years ago. They are stoneware with green trim and yellow & white tiny flowers (my favorite colors). My good china was a gift from my husband's paternal grandmother, Fluer de Lis, in grey (which was discontinued). Plus she gave us a Le Mouge (sp) luncheon set that is so delicate, I have never used it but looks pretty in the china cabinet. When we lived overseas we were able to buy crystal very cheap so I have Waterford for 12 in just about evry stem but it is a very simple pattern called Tremore (even got to visit that village once on a trip to Ireland). And I love to set a formal talbe with all the trimmings but tend to do it only at holidays.
My SIL is the kind of person that changes everyday dishes about 5 years. Of course, she also loves to have garage sales so she has the money to spend on the dishes. I have taken on some of my husband's pack rat traits and couldn't imagine selling dishes that I really like. Of course, I would love to dump the gas station dishes but that's not as easy as getting rid of an old shirt!

My dishes are plain old white. A bit boring but I dress them up with colorful placemats and tablecloths. I have a nice set of pasta bows from Williams Sonoma and a great salad bowl made from Vermont Maple I think. We use our Waterford Crystal constantly. We have some silver cutlery but that usually only comes out at the weekend. I love to use all my good dishes, what is the point of having them if you hide them away in the cupboard.

What a fun topic! I love to hear about everyone's personalities http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
My everyday dishes are a Lenox pattern that was discontinued right after it came it--and I can't understand why. The edge is a bright sunshiney yellow with scallops toward the inside that meet a broad navy band. The salad plates are all navy from there on in, but the dinner plates are white in the middle. They are so cheery and make the table look great every day.
I think, like lorilei, I chose them cause they show a side of my personality that doesn't come through right at first.
My good china--which, I am ashamed to admit, I have never used-- is also Lenox in a pattern called Hannah Gold. Very traditional--a white on white pattern with a thin gold rim. It's pretty.

My everyday dishes are Pfalzgraff... the Amalfi pattern. They have dark blue borders with red and green accents. We haven't gotten any fine china yet, as we've been moving from place to place for the past few years. I would like to get some holiday dishes, though.

Fun topic! I like to cook and wanted the kitchen to be an inviting place, so I used brighter colors. Our everyday dishes are from Prairie Stoneware. I wanted dishes that came in solid colors--I was afraid I'd tire of patterns quickly. I initially wanted Fiestaware, but ended up picking the Prairie Stoneware because it looked like pottery. The place settings come in cobalt blue, adobe red, golden wheat, and sage green. It's fun to mix and match the colors. I have some coordinating pieces like the sugar and creamer and the vegetable bowl. I'm currently on the hunt for serving platters and S&P shakers in the blue color.
Unforunately I only have one place setting of china so far. It's by Mikasa. The pieces are a creamy-white color with a platinum edge. The edge is shiny, and the leaf pattern on the edge is a brushed platinum. A little fancier than I wanted, but my original choice was a Lenox pattern, very simple but way too expensive.

I will have to admit that I have a problem with dishes. I love beautiful dishes and I have a tendency to spend way too much money on them. Keep in mind, I live by myself, but I have a full setting of Crate & Barrel dishes that are plain white. I alse recently bought some great hand painted bakeware and serving plates when I was in Poland so I HAD to get matching dishes for those. I now have a full set of dishes that are colbalt blue to match those. I also have the most beautiful pasta bowls and matching serving bowl that was given to me last Christmas from Pottery Barn. I have a great set of soup mugs that I got from Pier one (white and cobalt blue). Finally, I still have the old correlware or whatever it is called that my parents used when I was a kid. That's really all I can think of.
I told you I had a dish problem!!!!
To mightyh and anyone else who doesn't use her good china...Remember, if you don't use it the next wife will. I can't remember who first said that but I use it as my excuse to pull out the good stuff every now and again.
My everyday stuff...well, we lived in Naples, Italy and would drive down to Vietri to the shops where they made the pottery. So my dishes are mix and match patterns from their showrooms. Though I confess I wouldn't mind trading it in for a lot of cheap stuff that could be replaced every few years just for variety. Fun poll.
Oh my goodness. I'm a full blown member now!!

My dishes consist of four colors: mauve, mint green, blue and coral. They are made by Feista. Most of my serving bowls & platters were my grandmothers, some white, some clear, some have small delicate patterns on them. My kitchen is blue, yellow & white. I think I have used blue in my kitchen since the late 70's.

I'm amazed no one has a mother that influenced their choice. Obviously I did. My first set of dishes was a stoneware pattern by Wedgewood. Which eventually became dicontinued. Once I was married and starting breaking a few pieces of this set, contacting "Replacements Ltd" seemed way too fussy, so I decided I needed something that worked with our lifestyles and also could work with the changing colors and themes thoughout the year. So now I have what I love, plain white buffet plates. I can accessorize any way I want or not at all. I still have a set of fine china, did I mention mother influence when picking china http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif, I rarely use it although I do love it, it's just that lifestyles tend to be so much more casual these days and I rarely go to the trouble. My main accent color in the kitchen is cobalt and for fine dining it's gold accents with red.

What does my china say about me? I'm not sure...maybe you can tell me...
We registered for two sets of china when we got married--one was a very classic white Bernaudaud and the other was a very modern stoneware. We received a bunch of the Bernaudaud pieces, but they were so fragile that we were terrified to use it. So we took it back and bought the stoneware, which I really like. It is black with a marbelized silver glaze and very sturdy--but soooo beautiful, almost exotic looking. We also received a set of very nice flatware--its called Dansk Rondure and has very modern, clean lines. I love glasses--mostly because I love to drink wine http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif We got some very plain Mikasa glasses which I like and some cut crystal rock glasses.
The one thing I would really like is some clear glass plates and bowls--like dessert plates, if anyone is thinking of presents for me http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/tongue.gif

Well I'm also another lenox person. Our everyday dishes are a lenox stoneware called glories on grey-soft grey and pink flowers. It was discontinued about a year after we got married, but I still love it. I also have some Lenox pasta bowls in a different pattern(?name) with green and reds. Our good china is lenox Southern Vista. Hopefuly this won't be discontinued since it was in their top 25 when we bought it. We bought a 14 piece set with all the serving pieces over a several year period by shopping at the outlets. As far as serving platters go, I have a large collection of those which are hung on the wall in my dinnette area to decorate the space. It's shaped like an octagon and on the wall over each window in the octagon are platters. My favorite is my hamburger and hotdog platter-with ketchup and mustard, of course.

Fun topic! I just bought my lst set of REAL china at age 44!!
Our everyday, good "old" Corelle is the Country Violets/Blue violets from many years ago, sorta Williamsburg blue & red on cream. I'm down to 2 small dinner plates out of 8 after 25 years! Our company stuff is a cheery stoneware, cream speckled, with soft blue & yellow flowers. My NEW Lenox real china is their Summer Greetings, with HUMMINGBIRDS!!! Goes perfectly with my hummer cake plate/server, the hummer tumblers, the hummer mugs, the hummers....everything! My husband is truly ready to commit me now!
FYI--there's a place in SW North Carolina called Place Settings, Inc. (near Charlotte) that sells major china brands 30-35% off retail! My hummer china was 34% off dept. store price! And I got it in 3 days! They have a website, placesettings.com. Check it out!

I'm a pretty informal person. I don't own any china, or silver. When I got married we had NOTHING, so everything that we registered for was what we needed to live, I didn't want to register for china and get a half set of china with a half set of everyday stuff. I loved my plates when I got married, but I'm sick of them now. They are very bright, bold colors, Cafe` Paris is what they are called. I'm sure some of you have seen them. They look very nice all set on my table with my bright glasses and placemats. The only really nice set that I have are my wine glasses. A family friend bought us an entire set of really nice crystal wine glasses. Nice big red wine bulbs, white wine glasses, flutes, brandy snifters, etc. And we use them, alot!

I also bought a set of "real" dishes from Crate & Barrel before I was married. I saw no reason to wait for marriage, and when my husband finally proposed, we just expanded the same set. The dishes are plain white because I think food looks weird on some colors--we have friends with black dishes and I always think dinner looks unappetizing and strange on that background. Fine china...maybe someday.

Our everyday dishes are ones that my husband had when I met him. They are hunter green and we only have a set of four. I do have a set of nicer dishes that I received when I got married. They are white with a silver band trim. However, they are still packed at my parents house until we get out of our apartment and into our new house. Then once I decide how I want to decorate the house I hope to get new everyday dishes. I do have a very nice set of 6 crystal wine glasses from Czechoslovaki that we received from my BIL. They have not been used yet! Everything else pretty much serves the puropse to get us by. Hopefully nicer stuff is in the future!

When we got married mom and in-law both said Correlle..we said no and our stuff was too heavy!!
We now have...Corelle...white because I constantly change my interests and moods and this way I can change the colors around them.
China is cream with scalloped sides and thin gold rim. My husband said not to use it last year for Thanksgiving because it had to be washed by hand but this year...Im instisting!!

Since I just finished school, I haven't had very much time to accumulate anything, so what I have right now is a plain white Crate and Barrel set...I also have some ceramic soup, cereal bowls and dessert plates that are white with a blue/green border, and pink flowers around the edges that, I almost embarrased to say http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/redface.gif , I got at Target! (Hey, they have some decent stuff!) I can tell you all what I want, though. Yes, I'm one of those girls who's going to have all their china patterns picked out 8 years before they get married. I really enjoy looking at china patterns.
For everyday, there's a set that has a white base, with a pastel yellow border, filled with lavender, pink and blue flowers and green stems (like they'd have orange stems http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/rolleyes.gif ). The fine china I want (which also happens to be the most expensive set I see in every shop I've visited http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif )is ivory, with very delicate blue flowers around the scalloped edges, and a gold rim. It is THE most beautiful china I've ever seen. I'll just have to make sure I invite every wealthy relative I have to my wedding http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/tongue.gif
Our everday dishes are Pfalzgraff, and I can't remember the design name, but they're fairly simple looking. However, I have been thinking about getting a new set of just plain white dishes, since, as mentioned by several people above, they seem to offer a lot of versality as to how you can decorate your table, display your food, etc.
When we got married, I didn't register for china, as I didn't think it was necessary, but then my MIL bought me a set one year for Christmas. It's pretty gross looking, but since we had just bought a china cupboard, and I had nothing to put in it, I stuck those dishes in there, and they've sat in there collecting dust for the past 4 years! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Now don't laugh, our everyday plates are white with scalloped edges...I think they call them paper plates?! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif I do have some lovely blue plate holders to go with them!! Seriously, my son would rather throw the plate away than wash one and at this point, I'm all for that! For special occassions I do have OLD Corelle dishes that I received when I was married (should have sent those packing with the ex!). After reading these posts, now I want some new plates (the real kind)!!

My current kitchen dishes reflect the same color scheme as Lorilei's, Williamsburg blue and red. My kitchen is cream and Williamsburg blue with light oak cabinets with huge blue baskets of red geraniums (silk) on top of the cabinets. I' always looking for whimsical blur and red accesories. I'm using some great placements and trivets that are blue and red quilted scenes of teddy bears with Amrican flags that go as well in the kitchen as in my Americana decorated family room.
In addition I have sets of "seasonal" dishes in the basement. Bright yellow and orange flowered ones left over from the '70s that I use in the spring and summer and a set of blue and brown earthernware ones that are great for when I have Mexican food.
I have Christmas dishes for the Holidays and a good set that is Mikasa.
I, too, love my Waterford, but only use it for entertaining. My MIL and SIL gave me the Millenium champage goblets over the last few years and now that the wine goblets are out, they will not have to search far for my Christmas present!!! The champagne goblets were used to toast our engagment and our weddding and will be part of our tradition for family events through the years. My two sons (21 and 23) know that the set gets divided between them along with the memories of the family events that we shared.
I love to entertain and love having beatiful things that I have collected over the years to set a table that honors my guests with the knowledge that we have made a specaill effort to make them welcome in our home. My husband and I love to cook togethr and take great pains planning interesting and tasty meals to put on the interesting dishs.

Dishes? If they hold food and we can eat off them, they work. We don't have anything fancy at all. My MIL bought a set of dishes for my husband when he bought our house (a few months before we met). I always thought he liked them, but recently found out he thinks they're too big. They are rather large. They are getting so beat up, too. He also has these other dishes that he mixed in with the set his mom gave him. Men just don't care if things match or not. So, he gave me the go ahead to buy a new set. I already replaced all the silverware with a matching set. I have beautiful etched wine glasses from Czechoslovakia which my mom bought for me on a trip there (we are part Czech). The only problem is that I'm afraid to use them!
In summary, I'd have to say that our dishes certainly don't represent my taste at all so I need to go shopping!! I didn't register for any china for my bridal shower. I knew we'd never use it and there was other stuff I'd rather have.

hi! fun poll!
For our wedding, we got our everyday dishes by Mikasa ~english countryside , white, with a fruit raised pattern around the outside. (had i know what 1 kid would do to them, I would not have picked these as my everyday dishes!! we have a few missing ones! Hmmm...)I use my sage green place mats w/these.
For my china, i picked Noritake ~ enchantment, a pretty white, with sage green and pink flowers around the edge. With matching drk green napkins and placemats.
Of course now w/1 child, we've picked up the rubbermaid/tupperware china, lol, and few mix n max series of bowls and plates, and juice tumblers. lol

For everyday I have Pfalzgraff Sky. I picked it because it was simple (a double trim of navy and light blue) but it got discontinued anyway! And I refuse to pay the prices they are asking at Replacements. They want $30 for one dinner plate - I could almost get a whole new set for that price!
We have most of a set of China - Bellemeade by Royal Doulton. It's pretty - bone with a delicate blue floral, but I too wish I had gotten a plain bone with maybe a gold trim - something elegant, simple and versatile. I like subdued, calming colors and patterns.
My own personal fettish is with glasses. I love all the antique colored glasses but have no room to house any - much to my husband's relief, I'm sure. As it is now I am housing everyday wine glasses in two sizes, everyday champagne flutes, everyday water glasses and then crystal wine, water and champagne glasses as well. We're going to have to get a bigger house.....

For everyday use, we use Fiesta Ware dishes (the new stuff). We accumulate each new color as it comes out, so for just two of us, we have more than enough place settings. The many colors http://cgi.tripod.com/smilecwm/cgi-bin/s/cwm/rain.gif make for an exciting table when you mix and match. I also collect vintage Fiesta Ware, but I only display it. (so if you know anyone who has any...) Our wedding pattern, English Countryside by Mikasa, has only been used I think 2 or 3 times during the 6 years we've been married. I guess that says we don't do a lot of special occasion entertaining. Overall, I suppose my dishes say I'm simple yet stylish.
[This message has been edited by AndreaU (edited 11-10-2000).]
My dishes show how traditional I am- for everyday we have "english countryside" by Mikasa. I also have a set of white and blue with an old english pattern.
My fine china is Rosenthal, pattern name "diplomat"- it is wonderful- cream with gold and beautiful flowers. We have the crystal wine glasses that come in the six different colors to match the flowers.
Unfortunately, the china is rather expensive so I only have four dinner plates, two bread plates and two cups and saucers. I knew that I would not receive much for wedding gifts due to the price. But I love the pattern and figure that I can add to the set myself. Why settle for something you don't really like?!
We also have crystal stemware (red wine, white wine, juice, and tumbler). I use gold flatware with the fine china and silver for everyday.
I love bowls! I know it's weird- I have at least five different serving bowls with platters, etc. to match. I also have at least six different sets of mixing bowls!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/eek.gif My husband has threatened me if I bring another bowl into the house!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif

When I first got out of college, I decided I needed real plates, so I bought some nice ones from Pottery Barn -- white with a cobalt blue edge. For a while, my kitchen was mostly decorated in blues & whites, with some other bright accents -- reds, yellows, etc.
But when my husband and I were building our house AND planning our wedding, we sorta got on this "naturals" motif. We were chosing things for our house that looked natural -- slate-looking tile floors, hickory cabinets, stone fireplace, and lots of windows looking out on the woods in back. As we were selecting things for our registry, we began looking for fine china, since I already had some nice everyday dishes. But we couldn't find china we both liked, and actually, my husband didn't want china at all. Our lifestyle is much more casual, so we knew we wouldn't use the china much anyway. Then we found some beautiful everyday dishes by Mikasa that fit perfectly into our "natural" theme for our house. They are cream with a taupe border and large green leaves/vines on the border. They went really well with everything we had chosen for our house, so we decided just to register for those and skip the china. We are SO HAPPY we did that, because the dishes are beautiful, and we got all 12 placesettings for our wedding (they were nowhere near as expensive as china) as well as the serving pieces. My white and blue plates are all boxed up in the basement, waiting for some occasion that calls for them. I don't want to get rid of them just yet, because they're still in great shape, and I still like them!
We also registered for some nice crystal, but we only use that on special occasions. We also have two sets of flatwear -- one I inherited from my grandmother when she was moving into a smaller house, and the other we registered for. We usually use my grandmother's stuff for everyday and save the other for company or special meals just for us. I like them both, so it's nice to have the choice. The stuff from my grandmother has a more floral pattern on the handles, while the stuff we registered for is more plain -- I think the pattern is called Easton, but I can't think of the manufacturer right now. We think it's kinda funny that my husband's brother and his wife, as well as our next door neighbors all have that same pattern of flatwear. I guess it's pretty popular!
So I guess what all this says about my personality is that I like "natural" things & the outdoors. But I also really like the color blue. My KitchenAid mixer is even cobalt blue!

I just bought a new set about 3 weeks ago from Dansk outlet and it's the Floating Leaves pattern. Just plain white because like so many of you commented, I love to change my placemats. Another reason is because I want whoever is at my table to focus on the food (and conversation)I've cooked not my dishes.

My friends ask me, "why do you have so many dishes and plates?" and I say, why not?!
I started with a set of black and white large specked plates and bowls that I picked out for Christmas after graduating college.
Then in NYC,(now married) we stopped at a place called Fishes Eddie and I bought some cream colored plates with a green check border.
Last year I bought some purple plastic plates with a big daisy in the middle from a place called The Red Radish and found some similiar salad plates to go with it from Lechters.
We also have a full set of white Lenox china that has a gold rim on the edge. It's very boring but was a compromise between the two of us. He wanted bold colors, I wanted something dainty and frilly.
We have a set of crystal wineglasses and also a newer set of wineglasses that are more porous, but plain.
I'm sure I'll keep adding to my collection. I use them all, depending on what I'm serving and what it would look best on.

When my husband and I got married, the every day china we registered for was a mikasa Native American type design. The only problem was, it got scratched up really easily. So we returned them and my husband convinced me to get a pattern from, you guessed it, Target. It sounds VERY similar to yours, Emily. White with a blue strip and green strip around the border-no pink flowers though. Our fine china is a Lenox pattern-solitaire. Although we don't use it often, it is so pretty!

My hubby and I finally gave our two pre-marriage sets of dishes away (I'm proud to say I was a Corelle girl http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif) after the wedding. We registered for Denby (the Energy series) and received about 1/3 of what we signed up for. Of course, with the 10% off for buying the rest of what we registered for, another 10% off for opening a joint credit card, and 12 months no finance charges, we splurged big time and bought everything we could http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif We now have, oh let me see, 16 place settings (OK, they came out with a variation of the pattern and we couldn't resist!) and more serving stuff than we need. We'll just have to have more dinner parties http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
I also have 12 place settings, plus all the serving pieces, of Pflatzgraff's Winterberry Christmas china...it's sooooo simple and pretty and it was 60% off at the after Christmas sales a couple of years ago. I love a good deal, but I've promised my husband to stop at two sets of dishes http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Well, he is planning to build me a china hutch, which would free up some cupboard space in the kitchen....hmmm.... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

My husband and I registered for one pattern that we use for everyday and entertaining. It's Mikasa, the pattern is called Arabella. I love it -- it looks a bit like an Arts and Crafts pattern from the turn of the century. The rim is gold (but not shiny) with blue and sage flowers. We registered for twelve and I set aside six so that if they do get worn out, I'll still have some that are nice enough for holidays and special occasions. For glasses we have very simple ones from Crate and Barrel, I can't remember the pattern. I would love to eventually get Christmas dishes but right now it's not really in our budget.

LGBurns...watch those after Christmas sales! I usually see a dozen or so patterns on sale for about 50% off. I love dishes and change my everyday dishes a few times a year (I would change weekly if I had that many choices!)The patterns are a green and blue basket weave print, Guy Buffet chef dishes and a set of wild french pattern dishes.
I also have a beautiful rarely used set of Lenox china, white with thin gold trim. I have a few different sets of salad plates that I use as accent plates with my china to change the mood. I am going to try to use it more often, afterall aren't we worth it?
The day after Thanksgiving I bring out my Christmas dishes and use them for my every day dishes until the new year.

My everyday dishes are bright (blue and yellow) with citrus fruits on them. They are really cheery and make me happy, plus they can make almost any meal look much better. I guess this may mean that I am generally cheery and happy.
However, my china is Lenox Eternal, which is a cream color with a thin rim of gold. These dishes are simple, yet, elegant. As I do not consider myself overly elegant, I do not know what this exactly says about me, except that I enjoy the simple beauties in life.
I must admit I never thought much about my dishes! My husband and I both picked out the same place settings even though we weren't together (a match in heaven http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif)-Noritake, I believe it's "Sorcerer". It's light blue with dark blue trim. I also have my great, great-grandmother's china. Very pretty with gold trim and roses/leaves. We have a wild collection otherwise. As mentioned, the kids dictate alot. Lots of plastic cups from Applebees and other fine eating establishments along with the tupperware unbreakables. I'm also afraid to say that we eat off paper an awful lot! I've got some beautiful crystal that sits in my china cabinet. We should use it more often!
I guess my dishes reflect that I did inherit my mother's thing for china after all. I could have a butler's pantry with a set for every occassion, but I also love white china for its versatility (but DH doesn't).
My husband and I splurged on Christmas dishes 3 or 4 years ago. We got the Villeroy and Boch Naif Christmas and love it. We would have collected it over the years, but after we bought our first pieces, we were told they were going to discontinue it, and they has it for up to 75% off. I'm glad we paid that instead of Replacements prices! The winter scenes go from November to Feb. I guess we need to pull them out (it's been too warm in TX to think about snow scenes).
The rest of the year, we use our Dansk Rosebud, which is simple red buds on a white scalloped plate with a green rim. It was discontinued soon after we were married. In addition to Tupperware plates and plastic bowls, I have another set of discontinued china (Kingswood) I accumulated before we were married. We also have a Royal Doulton fine china (Carlyle) that I started before we were married and would be too embarrassed to select now. My grandmother left me a set of china, but my mother is housing and using that. There are limits.
When I first moved out on my own I bought a 16 pc Fiesta knock off, coral (or salmon) colored. And now 6 yrs later I still love it. I had about 3 pcs not make it on my move last year from Seattle, so I replaced them with white pcs that look pretty much the same.
I think the only addititons I am going to make are pcs of real "Fiesta ware" of the same color. I guess I am really into the Art Deco look.

I love dishes and would own several sets if I had the room to store them all. My everyday set is Pfaltzgraff Nature Wood pattern, I think they are a lot of fun and they keep coming out with such unusual pieces to go with them. My good dishes are plain clear glass, I love them because I keep picking up all different glass and lead crystal serving dishes to go with them and it allows me to be very creative and festive on any given occasion. Very eclectic and yet you can dress them up or down.

A neat idea! With crystal and metallic options, and colored glass, to accessorize, they are probably even more versatile than plain white china.

Now I'm wondering -- those of you with multiple sets of dishes... Where in the world do you KEEP all of them?
I have a difficult time deciding what to do with TWO sets. Fortunately, I've recently acquired a china cabinet (which houses my good dishes); otherwise, I'd be in tough shape!

Lorelei - I'm lucky enough to have a hubby who likes to build things...we just rebuilt our house and I have a huge kitchen with lots of cabinet space. I've talked him in to building me a china cabinet for the dining room next year...what a guy http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
