Hi everyone! How have you all been?
Question I have been thinking about for the past couple of days: how do you prepare fresh corn? I've been just cutting it off and sauteeing in a little water- I don't have a steamer insert- and it has been delicious. I'm sure there are other better ways to do it.
Thanks,
Dana

It is excellent grilled with butter and the herb of your choice, and it is wonderful raw!

Microwave it!! It's always delicious. I wash the husked corn and put it on a paper towel that moistened - depending on how many ears I have, I then "wrap" it in the towel and microwave according to your oven's directions. The more corn, the longer it will take.

We have just always husked the corn and then thrown the ears into a big pot of boiling water for EXACTLY 3 minutes (according to my German grandfather).
Side note....my dearly departed grandfather always grew corn in his garden. He was so picky about the corn being fresh that he would have my grandma boil the water on the stove before he would go pick the corn from the garden.

Hi everyone. After 11 days I finally got the CL boards!
When I make corn I just take it husk and all & put it in the microwave (2 ) and cook it 3 mins then turn it then 2 mins. I then peel it and put some margarine or "I cannot believe is not butter spray):)

I agree with BlueMoose about cooking corn: we have been raising it for years and I NEVER pick the corn until I know the water is boiling. Sometimes, our eyes are bigger than our stomachs and there is that rare occasion that there is some corm left over. Have found - from sheer laziness - that if you put your corn back in the same water you boiled it in once the water is cool and keep it there overnight, it is just about as good the next day or so as the first time it is cooked. I usually wrap the corn individually the next morning in saran wrap and put it in the 'fridge. Then, when I want to warm it up, I just pop it into the microwave. It is truely wonderful. Try it and let me know what you think!
