Please explain new archives

Some clarification might be in order, since we used to have 3 archives. Were they combined or selectively pruned? How are they ordered? (the old ones were in alphabetical order)

The archive is the one feature "lost" from the software switch. What was contained in the "Popular Threads" archive was moved in the forum of the same name.

The other archives were actually merged back into the original forums where they came from.

The main function of the archives in the previous incarnation was to trim the sheer number of posts from the main forums. This new software should not have the same performance issues as the old board for having 100,000+ posts, so they were simply put back "home" so to speak.

I hope you haven't read my previous message, because I've been foraging around, making more and more sense of this. So, it's not that the materials in the two other forums were actually lost, rather that everything but Popular Archives is actually back in the Active Forum again? Is there any rhyme or reason to why some things will be in one spot, some in the other?

I like that the new search refers me to the Archives rather than pretending something simply doesn't exist.

Good work. I continue to be impressed.
