I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!:)
We returned from my BIL's yesterday. Had a great time but really didn't eat too much:) Got on the scale this morning and did well!!
I did BSS3 with Stephanie this morning - really got a good workout. Goal is 2 more workouts this week. I'm going to try and get up early again - DH said he will get up with me;)
I got out all of my Christmas stuff today - needed to do it today because our weekends all the way through Christmas are crazy. We won't get the tree until the 8th though because I need it to last through New Years!
How is everyone? Ready to get back on track?!! Have a great night!

Picked up our new treadmill tuesday before turkey day. I got down from the back of the truck, missed a step, landed hard on my right heel, the plantar fasciitis one. yeotch! incredibly sore for two days when I first got up in the morning but getting better.
When I picked up the treadmill and there was one (1)guy at the store. the box said minimum two people handling it, weighs 335 lbs. so I helped get in on the hand truck, & helped lift it into the back of my truck. the truck is tall and I'm barely 5'3", so it's to shoulder height for me. What the heck do they do if "I" don't want to or am unable to help? I'm sensitive to this issue as it's the third time in two months that this issue has come up, the two other times being big TVs where one delivery guy shows up and the box is too big and heavy for one person to manage even with a hand truck. Since I don't want my brand new treadmill/TV dropped and banged around, I helped but what the heck??? a new trend in retail? I didn't want to pay an extra $125 for delivery & setup for the treadmill. I knew we could handle it here at home but I didn't expect to be "recruited" at the store.
anyway, the new treadmill is great. it is quiet and smooth & a huge improvement. Our old one was having bigger problems than we realized.
We did a gorgeous snowshoe trip day after turkey day near mt baker, and a 6-7mile cross country ski on sunday, also a beautiful beautiful day in the north cascades. the other days I did treadmill/elliptical, coremax , and cathe's power hour. KPC got in there somewhere too but I forget when.

Yikes Valerie!!!! If you couldn't "help" I wonder what they would do?!!! Incredible - poor poor customer service. I'm glad it's working great though. Your snowshoe hike and crosscountry ski trip sounds divine! I have never been xcountry - I've only done downhill but would love to try.
I dragged my rear downstairs after school and did the FIRM's Fat Blasting Cardio. BSS3 series a quick 35 min fanny lifter workout but I got through it. I'm feeling really bloated today:( (hormone stuff!) CL's Butterflied Shrimp Stir Fry is on tap tonight.
We stayed up late to watch our Steelers in the quagmire last night. Wow. What a mess.
Anyway - have a great Tuesday!

charisse, I used to downhill & xc but DH would not like downhill so we switched strictly xc. (not good enough at downhill to be a true "backcountry skier") Lots of people do backcountry here but it's a tough sport and you need to be a good soft snow skier, something I'm not. I got to intermediate and plateaued.
You should try xc , it's great exercise and completely different from the noise and speed of downhill areas. It's cheap (comparatively speaking), although no snow sports are really inexpensive. But (out here anyway) it's easy to rent equipment to give it a try before investing. Lots of people do both, some downhill areas have some limited xc skiing.
We are fortunate we live where there's national forest & wilderness & can usually get out all alone if we plan right. Not as easy as it used to be though, too many yahoos with snowmobiles that over run everything with snow on it. But xc is a great sport, totally different from downhill and not as intense as you see in the olympics. and snowshoeing is great too.

Hi Charisse and Valerie (and any lurkers!). I was out of commission for a bit. First I did something to my back during Kelly Coffey's Cardio/Sculpt. She does some weird angles when lifting weights and I felt my back tweak. Stupid me kept going and it was pretty painful for a few days - so no workouts. It finally felt better and I got strep throat. :( I'm better now, but haven't felt that sick in awhile. I told DH he was in charge and I was going up to bed and locking the door!
Valerie, that's horrible customer service. Glad you finally successfully got your new treadmill, though! I broached the subject with DH after he said he had no time to exercise. I said we should get a treadmill - he wasn't very receptive, but I just need to work on him a bit. ;)
Charisse, good job on the workouts and weight!! Mine had gone down a bit, but today the scale was scary! I know I've overindulged a bit, so I'm going to try to stay away from the scale for a few days, eat better and see what happens. This time of year is horrible for eating!
Yesterday I did Tracey's Glute Camp (ouch!). Today I did Tracey's Strictly Upper Body and most of Amy Bento's new hi/lo workout. Trying to make up for lost time!

I got recruited to load the truck to go to the dump yesterday so I never got back to finish. joanne, glad to hear you've recovered. I used to rely on getting sick once or twice a year to keep my weight in check, but have not gotten sick enough to do that in a LONG time now. I do not want to get on the scale right now, it won't be good news since my jeans are tight. ... a bad sign! too much thanksgiving is hanging around to haunt me.
we dumped all our old carpet and padding. It's a shame there's no way to recycle but there's not. not as much work as we thought though so I came home and did cathe's Bootcamp. I hadn't done it in a while and was surprised that some parts were not as hard as I remember, but just to balance it out, others just as tough. the one minute cardio cycles are killers expecially the "terminators". I only got thru about half of them but did get thru the other 7 cardio cycles in reasonable form. after doing KPC the kickboxing cycles were not bad.
Anyone heard from Michelle?

Joanne - so glad you are feeling better. Has the rest of your crew been healthy? I keep thinking one of these days I'm going to pull something now that I'm "old":p Thank goodness your pull wasn't serious!
Valerie - I haven't heard anything from Michelle. I sent her a pm earlier and nothing yet. Hope she's hanging in there.
I quick did Burn and Shape from the FIRM. A good 40 min cardio and weight workout. I have to go chaperone a skating party tonight for our school. It benefits our Relay for Life team and the kids have a blast.:)
Tomorrow's Friday!!!:)

I got in my 30 treadmill, 30 elliptical yesterday and that was it. today I plan treadmill and something else, maybe KPC. we are planning on a ski or snowshoe tomorrow morning but then the weather is supposed to get wretched unpleasant and we want to be home before it happens.
It is nuts here when we get low elevation snow. nobody knows how to drive and we have few plows, sand trucks etc since it's not a regular occurrence. many years there's none, but some years it's a big problem. snow always brings down tree limbs and power lines. always. that gets old in a hurry. then monday it's supposed to warm up and rain so then we will likely have flooding. :o or maybe the forecast is all wrong... everyone have a great weekend, I'll check back in when we get powered back up.

Valerie, I hope the weather forecasters are wrong for your area! Doesn't sound like fun. We're supposed to get some type of ice/snow storm this weekend, but I'm close to Chicago, so we're used to this stuff.
Charisse, how was the skating party? Ice or roller? Sounds like fun - I remember going to skating parties in school, always a blast! Good job keeping up with the workouts!
I've decided to give Cathe's new series another try - I think I was just in a rut when I tried them before. I'm going to try to do them for about four weeks with a couple other workouts mixed in and see what happens. They are heavier weights than I'm used to. Yesterday I did the kickboxing one with legs and today I did the chest and back with high intensity step. Tomorrow should be shoulders and low intensity step. So far it's making me hungry! Don't know if it's the workouts, but I could have eaten the entire kitchen last night.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Stay warm and dry!

No workout today. My mom's coming and tomorrow's we're headed to King of Prussia Mall to shop!:) This used to be my old stomping grounds so I can't wait!!! Workout is planned for Sunday!
We're supposed to get nasty weather here Sun am too. Icy mix - yuck. We're just south of the weather line that gets the icy stuff instead of snow. Good luck Valerie - hope it doesn't get too yucky for you!!!
Joanne - it was a roller skating party. Funny how it is soo "in" right now! The kids had a blast. I didn't skate but promised to for the one in February.;) Let us know if you change your mind on the new Cathe series!!
Have a great weekend everyone - stay warm and dry!

well, I give up on my workout for the time being. did 30 on the treadmill and tried to do KPC but kept getting phone calls. too many interruptions. will try to finish later.
Roller skating... I used to love that! we skated indoors at a roller rink but mostly outdoors with the clamp-on skates. course we ice skated too. (I grew up in wisconsin) outdoors of course. hope you stay on the right side of the weather line. we have that situation too, and the weather people are much better than they used to be at predicting where things will fall, and whether as solid or liquid. but all comes in right off the pacific so it's trickier than where the air masses are over land and you can see/measure what's happening.
Joanne, yes, give it another try. I didn't get the new series, I have my hands full with what I have already. I don't do step workouts anyway. there seems to be mixed opinions on the new series but of course nothing will please everyone. the footwork sounded too fancy for me, the original draft horse. I can't even figure out grape vining...:(
