I feel really dumb asking these questions but I really haven't heard of either. I am assuming Trader Jack's is either a grocery store or a food brnad, but I have never heard of TJ except onj this board. It sounds like I am missing out! Also - I am assuming CL Complete is either a special CL issue or a new cookbook. I just moved to CA from Louisiana and may have missed any special issues - it was very hard to find CL where I used to live. I just started a subscription - if the CL complete is a special issue, s it still available on stands or do I need to call for a backissue?

Trader Joe's is similar to a Whole Foods. It's a supermarket, that caters to "healthier" foods. Alot of the items that we talk about on this board can be found there, like Pirate's Booty (which is like Cheeto's, but much less calories and fat).
California has TJ's EVERYWHERE!! If you tell me where in CA you are, I will tell you exactly where you can find TJ's. It really is an experience going there. Most of the frozen fish is MUCH cheaper than at a grocery store, and alot of the vegetable are organic (my favorite is the organic potatoes). I just can't say enough about Trader Joe's. Trust me, you go once, and you're hooked for life.
CL Complete, is a cook book, put out by Cooking Light. You can buy it at most book stores, I would imagine. There are alot of CL cookbooks out there, including the annuals, and the 15 minute CL. Do a search, and you'll find all the info. you ever would want on these books.

heatherfeather-
I don't have CL Complete, so I can't speak to that--but we do have Trader Joe's in our area, so I can tell you all about that! It's a fantastic discount gourmet grocery--at least that's my take on it. TJs has everything--and they're located throughout most of California, so you probably have access to one, too. Go to www.traderjoes.com to find your nearest location. If you do a search for "TJs" or "Trader Joes" under the Good Food board, you'll find tons of recommendations for what to check out on your visit. Prepare to become addicted! :D

TJ's is a grocery store, but it is a little different. It has a lot of specialty items and it is not outrageously priced. I was turned on to their Pasta Sauces, frozen entrees and of course Pirate's Booty (which is now available at our regular groceries) by my sister who lives in Oregon. TJs opened within the last year in the Chicago area.
CL Complete is a cookbook. I bought mine on-line from a link on the BB for 1/2 price so you may want to search.

Trader Joe, is a specialty food store. The prices are low and the quality is high. I also live in So.Cal. and the milk prices in the supermarkets are very high. At TJ's the milk is very good and it is much cheaper, also eggs and especially wine;also frozen veggies, fish, bread, you will have a great time .
Go to www.traderjoes.com and see where the closest one is to where you live.
