Does anyone know? I bought a package of AA batteries that I don't need. I can't find the receipt. Do you think they'll still give me my money back? I'd take an in-store credit too. I don't care. I shop there enough. I just don't want these batteries.....

They will! They can look up your receipt with your membership #.

They sure do. As Katygirl states they just use your membership card to look it up. I found this out when they were trying to get me sign up for the 2% back card and they showed me the items I had purchased in a year on their computer  . Once they were able to revive me I signed up :D

I've taken gifts back without a receipt and they give store credit with no problems.

Costco takes back ANYTHING. I've seen people returning produce they didn't use
I commented to the cashier that I couldn't imagine returning unused produce that had spoiled. She told me they've had people return bakery cakes with only 1 slice left, claiming they didn't really like it. People are amazing!

Costco takes back ANYTHING.
Well, MOST anything. They have now amended their policy for certain electronics like iPods and computers. I think you can take those back within 90 days, but most everything else they will take back with or without receipt.
I do a fair amount of returning, but usually it's things that are unopened or clothing because you can't try it on in their warehouse. I can't imagine bringing back a slice of cake and demanding a refund for the whole thing  ......but I have returned produce. Like the time I opened a bag of apples and at least 2 or 3 of them were rotten  . In fact, I rarely buy produce from costco anymore because that is one thing they carry that I prefer to buy at a regular grocery store. The only produce I like to buy at Costco is whole pineapples, which for us is maybe once or twice a year.

Ditto, I don't hesitate to return produce if it's spoiled. If it sits in MY fridge and then is rotten, obviously I wouldn't, but if I take it home from the store and realize that my $10.00 box of blueberries is gross, I take it back.
