I'm going to be having a celebration dinner next weekend and there are so many restaurants to choose from I just can't make a decision. I've been looking at guidelive.com and here is what has come up...
Capital Grille
Pappa Bros.
Del Friscos
Reata
Old Hickory Steakhouse (gaylord)
Ama Lur (gaylord)
Classic Cafe (roanoke)
As you can see I'm leaning towards a steakhouse so that my whole party will be able to find something suitable to eat. And my budget can't be too high...or else we would be going to CraftDallas (I wish!)
Any good reviews of these places? Or other suggestions?

Even though it's a chain, I love Capital Grille. Their service is fantastic, and they have a great menu, even for your non-steak-eaters. I don't eat steak, but they have really good seafood choices. I wouldn't recommend them, though, if you have a vegetarian among you. I go there fairly often for business lunches/dinners, and we've had several work functions/parties there for 15-20 people, and they've always done a very good job.

We have some very fussy eaters amongst our office staff, and we usually have pretty good luck with the variety at Saltgrass, which is a steakhouse.

DH's company had a dinner at Del Frisco's and he said it was amazing. Pappa Bros is nice, too, but not one that stuck out in my mind when I saw the thread title. If $$ isn't a factor, you might think about Roy's (http://www.roysrestaurant.com/)....I'd loooove to go there.

How many people? I love Tillman's Roadhouse, over in Oak Cliff. It would probably seat up to 20 or so, but might be booked with Christmas parties. I also like Bob's Steakhouse (one of my favorites in Dallas). A friend of mine swears by Hibiscus, and she is a total foodie.

I ate at Del Frisco's in Dallas a few years ago and it was close to $100.00 per person. I went to their website (http://www.delfriscos.com/dallas/menu.asp) and I didn't see any pricing on the menu listed. This makes me think that it is still an $$$$ place to eat.

Tillman's menu sounds wonderful! But I only have five in my party and they don't take reservations for under 6.

I've never eaten at Del Frisco's, but have heard that it is: a)really good; and b) really expensive.
It's not a steakhouse, but La Duni was really good when I ate there:

I think all the La Duni restaurants are great - we ate at Alo a couple of months ago and it was really tasty (tapas mostly - which works great in a group, IMO).

La Duni's dessert menu has me drooling on the keyboard :)
Now I have even more choices to try to pick from, thanks!

I know I said a steakhouse, but this might be the place...
Bistro Louise (http://www.bistrolouise.com/menus_dinner.htm)
It looks so good!

Oh - I meant to say you should probably cross the Old Hickory Steakhouse off your list. If it's anything like the one in the Gaylord in Nashville, it's overpriced and underwhelming. There is much better steak to be had elsewhere in Dallas! Bistro Louise looks great!

I've not been to Bistro Louise but everything I've heard about it has been wonderful. It's still on my wish list!! I've been to La Duni and really liked it --that would be a good choice. In Ft. Worth we've also enjoyed Escargot, Saint-Emillion, and Ferre (replaced Angeluna across from Bass Hall).
