Hi everyone,

I am contemplating ordering a KitchenAid stand mixer (Professional 600 6-quart model) from Amazon.com. I noticed that they have the mixers in both Meringue and White, with the one in Meringue significantly lower in price than the one in White. On my monitor, the photos of the mixers look the same; I can not tell the difference (if there's any) between Meringue and White. Would anyone out there know what the difference might be?

Thanks in advance!

I'd save the money and choose the less expensive one. I've had mine for 20 years, and it is still going strong - I hope you'll enjoy yours as we have enjoyed ours!

Looks like al the colors are priced higher than the merigue except the licorice. I think the meringue is the flat (not shiny) white and it may not have been as popular -- it could be a discontinued color. I don't know if the difference between onyx black and licorice is similar.

I wonder if the flatter finish is harder to keep clean. I don't know. Mine is a slick, shiny finish, but I don't think of them as hard to clean. I'm just trying to think of any downside for you.

I'm so jealous that you have the space for that ) = I'd love to be able to justify one of those. I'd have to trade out the food processor to make it happen...and I don't think so.

Killer deal on that color, enjoy it if you get it!

Thanks everybody for all your replies! I ended up placing an order for the mixer, in Meringue. Yes, TravelingJ, it is indeed a fabulous deal ($209.99 after $50 rebate). It's supposed to arrive on Friday. I can't wait!! :)
