I tried posting this when the boards were being funky but never saw it come up, so I'll try again.
We made the lemon-ginger sorbetto and it was really fantastic. Tart from the lemon, and tummy-tingling heat from the ginger. A great combination, really easy to make, and fat-free. Nice texture too. My kind of treat! Anybody else try it?
BTW, I agree with all the positive reviews of the strawberry-buttermilk gelato too. What a great way to get fresh berry flavor.

I made this yesterday and it came out terribly! I am not sure what I did wrong. I thought the honey taste was completely overwhelming! Did anyone else have this problem? It sounded so good to me, I would be willing to try it again-but don't want to waste any more ingredients!
Also, mine is not white like the picture, but kind of browninsh!
Any suggestions?

That's so interesting that the honey was so strong in yours, Lisa! I remember thinking that I couldn't taste it in our sorbet, so why even bother putting it in. We really liked the flavor of the sorbet, but the honey didn't seem to be a contributing factor at all.
I used a light-colored, mild-flavored honey, and the sorbet was light lemony-yellow in color. Was your honey dark and/or strongly flavored? I've had a few honeys that had a really, really distinctive flavor (buckwheat honey and chestnut honey come to mind) that might be overpowering in a recipe like this.
I hope you try it again with more pleasing results! :)

We made this at my Supper Club Dinner last night and it was wonderful! One person thought it was too tart, but the majority found it very refreshing. It would be a great palette cleanser during a meal.

Mmmm! I made it (Lemon Ginger Sorbetto) a couple of weeks ago and loved it. Very tart and refreshing. Mine was kind of a golden color. I could have eaten the whole thing by myself LOL! I think it would have been good as a slushy drink too.
