Be safe tonight! Hopefully, temperatures will warm more than anticipated--but you never know.
Props to my people: KS Winter Weather Briefing (http://www.crh.noaa.gov/top/?n=winterweatherbriefing)

Cumulus--- where in Kansas are you?
I'm in Wichita --- looks like it's going to get pretty nasty here!

Wow. Thank you for this thread, you just saved me a ton of headaches. We were just lazily watching DVD's this morning (in Kansas City). I hadn't even turned on the news, so I was blissfully unaware of what was coming at us. We had planned to head south tomorrow afternoon, but this changed plans!
Thanks again for posting this, otherwise we might have been frozen in!

I'm in Lawrence, but work in Topeka (as a meteorologist!). It's looking to be as bad as we originally thought! There's going to be > 1" accumulations across much of eastern Kansas, and Missouri is going to get hammered. I just went to the store to grab a few supplies and food- it was a madhouse!
The worst part is that I'm supposed to work tomorrow at 1pm. Eek!
Below is a huge (sorry) graphic of QPF- or the quantative precipitation forecast. If all of the precip falls as freezing rain (or even most of it!) we're screwed!
