Did anyone drink anything fabulous while the boards were down?

For this week, I would like to suggest a 1998 Benziger Fume Blanc. It's a nice, crisp white for the hot summer weather.

Aah, Susie- I've had Fume Blanc on the brain, or rather, on my palate! I've just finished a bottle of St Chapelle 1998 Fume Blanc (Idaho). So refreshing.

Fume Blanc/Sauvignon Blanc is so good with asparagus, gazpacho, tomato and raw veggie salads- perfect for the dog days of summer! Last night I had steamed asparagus with grated Myzithra cheese- a pungent, sharp sheep cheese and an enormous spinach salad with veggies. The herbal, grassy notes of the Fume was a lovely match!
