When I need to get motivated to clean house, I put on the oldie's station for the Beach Boys and assorted other fun groups.

Angry woman dance mixes. :D Like "I Will Survive" or stuff from Cher's last 2 albums. "Un-Break My Heart" by Toni Braxton--the dance mix. Some Whitney Houston dance mixes.

Almost anything from Nine Inch Nails' Pretty Hate Machine.

It's been so long since I worked out to music (instead of TV) that I am blanking at the moment.

You can do a search under Healty Living as I remember asking this same question a while back and got a lot of great songs. I would try and find it but I am not that savvy with my searches.

Anyway one song someone suggested that I love is "I Run For Life" by Melissa Ethridge.

Songs I tend to run to are ones I like to sing, this includes many Springsteen songs, Rascal Flatts, Lifehouse (one of my newest favorites!!!), there is a song by Wideawake called "Maybe Tonight, Maybe Tomorrow" that I love. Oh I love playing Sugarland songs because in my next life I hope to sing like that!!!

ITunes playlists are great, I like to go through the Inspirational Songs, but there are running lists and also can check out some of the celebrities lists. I found Wideawake from Lance Armstrong.

George Thorogood and the Destroyers, ZZ Top, and Bad Company seem to be the ones that really get me hyper.

As far as individuals, Tom Petty and John Cougar Mellencamp have some good ones.

Just depends on your taste in music, I guess. As kwormann mentioned, there are some you listen to ONLY when you want to get pumped up. ZZ Top is kind of like that for me. They really get my blood moving, but if I listen to them any other time, they just make me a little annoying. :p

My most recent favorite is "Send Your Love" from Sting's "Sacred Love" CD.
There are two versions on the CD and I played them to death in my car this summer.

I noted a lot of my favorite on boisewinesnob's list too!

When I was running today I was trying to think which songs got my feet going the best and I can not believe I forgot this one:

Queen - Can't stop me now.

Also if you like country, Little Texas - Kick a Little, gets me going.

Thanks everyone, now this afternoon I will be hitting ITunes to add some songs to my playlist. This is why I love when we rerun threads becasue I always learn something new!

Hmmm, is it true? I saw no Red Hot Chili Peppers on those lists. When it comes to music that makes me move, those guys can always get me going. A few that I listen to:

Show Me Your Soul
Get up and Jump
No Chump Love Sucker
and, oh, just about anything else, especially they're earlier stuff.

One that I love in particular (and must put on my MP3 player) is
Thunderkiss 65 by White Zombie. Good headbanging music.

Right now I have some of these:

She Blinded me With Science - Thomas Dolby
Pretty Fly (for a White Guy) - The Offspring
Sexy and 17 - Stray Cats
Mexican Radio- Wall of VooDoo
Lump and Peaches -Presidents of the United States of America
One Thing Leads to Another- The Fixx
Alright Alright (came with my mp3 player) says Sahara Hotnights
Turning Japanese - The Vapors
What Do All the People Know - The Munroes

I am not offering moral judgment at all since millions of people use it (including people in the record industry ) but downloading copyrighted material is illegal.

If you use a PC based machine, it is also a wonderful way to get a Trojan or virus.

If you use a PC based machine, it is also a wonderful way to get a Trojan or virus.I thank you for making a very good point, and I don't see it as a moral "judgment". Ah, the dilemmas we face in this modern world, of which our forebears could never have dreamed! (We need an "angst" smiley so I can insert it here!)
