wanting to start a new mommy club

I am 33 weeks pregnant, due January 29th and am hoping to start a mommy group in my area. It would be fun to get together with our babies periodically for enjoyment and support.
It would be great if it could be a combo play group / supperclub..( or brunch / lunch)

Have you looked on meetup.com for groups in your area? There are some other moms groups out there, also, depending on whether you'll be a SAHM or working mom. Hopefully someone will pipe in with the links as I can't remember them at the moment.

I have tried using meetup once before for a cooking group and it didn't really work well for me but I think trying again may be a good idea!!

Congratulations!

My Mom's group (quickly turned in to playgroup - Dads joined in) formed from a hospital sponsored Moms group. We all attended after our first child was born (it met once a week) and our babies were within a few weeks of each other. We continued to meet on our own - often getting together about once a month over the past 5 years.

So if your hospital system has that type of support service available, I'd strongly encourage you to check it out. Your group could form from there.
