mailing baked goods- US to Canada?

A coworker moved from the US to Canada a few months ago. We still e-mail regularly and she was remembering the cookies I would bring to our office Christmas gatherings. I would like to ship her some via UPS, but are there any regulations about sending food between the two countries?

Does anyone know if I can do this?

The Canada Border Services Agency does allow baked goods into Canada (except those containing meat). You will have to fill out a customs form when you ship the parcel. Be warned, though, that the shipping costs may be very high - they certainly are with the postal service, and I can't imagine that UPS would be any cheaper.

When I mailed my packages via USPS last week, airmail was the only option they offered, and I don't think UPS does media mail at all :confused: . Let me know if you find an affordable way to ship cookies to Canada, though, because I'd love to send some to my family there :) .
